From 1974-1979, I was heavily involved in a small cult (300 memebers at its height) called called Lakeside Tabernacle, with the main location in East San Diego County (Lakeside). There was a lot of spiritual carnage associated with that group. There was some communal living, arranged marriages, and coerced giving. Heavy on End-time teachings and Pentacostalism (prophecies, dreams and visions).[br][br]It finally disbanded when the Jim Jones Mass-Suicide took place in 1979. There were too many similarities, and most members made the connection and left. Many went on into Christian maturity, many others were embittered and walked away from the Lord completely. I'm sure there are as many stories as there were members! [br][br]Today, I am a healthy (Reformed Baptist) believer who thanks God for the grace in delivering me from that experience.[br][br]I am here to learn of other's experiences, and hopefully share how God healed me from my own experience.
