The Real Backsliders
I left when I was 14 and kinda went nuts a bit (read: got in alot of trouble) and so got tossed around from place to place till finally there were no more relatives to foist me off on and I was still only 16, but my parents still wouldn't leave TF! Not even to take care of their only daughter! Though that was probably better than some parents who did leave temporarily to "help" their teens "adjust" but made their kids feel like crap because they (the kids) were keeping them from being DO!
My one claim to sanity is that I didn't choose to be in the Family, I was born into it. And I left the second I got the chance! But my mom, who seems to be an otherwise sane and intelligent person, CHOOSES to stay!! And my dad, who was excommunicated in the 80s, OF HIS OWN FREE WILL, went back! Now THAT'S BACKSLIDING! I remember when I first left nine years ago, for the first few months I had a recurring nightmare from which I would awake in a cold sweat, shaking and scared out of my mind! I'd given in and gone back. Back to what was familiar, and terrifying! But it was always just a horrible nightmare.  (reply to this post)

bunch of repeats!
we already did the "post your good reasons to be a systemite here" thing, and we had a much better sense of humor about it too. Read it, it's a good laugh  (reply to this post)

re.gifmonkeyfart, October 8, 2002, 19:15
Ho Ho, sit down Joe!
Joe, I have been known to appreciate the rare decent post/comment from you, however, would you please stop putting plug in''s for your dumb-ass "100 reasons poster" all over the place.
If you really think I consulted your poster before writing my article I''m afraid you''re sadly mistaken. Besides most of the humour in that poster was really rather less than intelligent & more just pithy slurs.

(reply to this post)

re.gifJoeH, October 8, 2002, 22:10
good response
I see that in addition to being unoriginal you''ve stooped to insulting me too. And who are you anyway, monk or monkeyfart? Do you have multiple personality disorder?

Temporarily Possessed by Pollyanna Spirit, Tries to Draw Big Fat Circle to Include 120 Reasons or so
My take (worth exactly what you pay for it -- and it''s free): although both works employ words, they are expressions in different genres. I must say I like each for its virtues and each affects me differently. I laugh more with Joe''s, write more with Monk''s.

don''t cry doughboy
Joe, the insult was directed at your poster, not you. As for my being original, I''m sure that’s a matter of opinion as nothing in my article was copied.
And yes, the fact that I have written as Monk & monkeyfart would indicate I do have multiple personality disorder (thanks for noticing). I am in fact writing from my padded cell.

re.gifJoeH, October 9, 2002, 00:11
well then
sorry if you didn''t like it, most everyone else seemed to, but hey, why don''t you write something funnier than my "pithy slurs"? :) Then we can all have a good laugh, I think I laugh at my own jokes on the same level as I enjoy my own cooking, but that doesn''t mean you have no talent. Btw, I only wrote about half the material for that poster.
(reply to this post)

re.gifmonkeyfart, October 9, 2002, 02:57
righteo
"why don''t you write something funnier than my "pithy slurs"?"- Where''s the challenge?- At least make it hard Joe. Was the point of your poster just to be funny?

Besides, I never said I didn''t like the poster and I have nothing against humorous, unintelligent remarks or "pithy slurs" on a good day. I find plenty of "dumb-ass" & unintelligent remarks are amusing depending on the context which they are written.

I know you weren''t the only one who contributed to the poster (thank God), but you are the only one crying foul at my article being of a similar topic.

Same old "Signs"
Did anyone else dislike this new Shyamalan movie? Started out good and then took a nosedive. Why must everyone resort back to God in the end???  (reply to this post)

Signing Out
Being both a movie fanatic and critic, I have to say I was sorry I wasted my time and money on 'Signs'. The directing, acting and script was good, but the story sucked. There was so much more they could have done with that film, but in the end M. Night ain't no Spielberg. The Sixth Sense was great, but I'm afraid it's all down-hill from there. Speaking of movies, The Road to Perdition was a classic, and XXX is good fun if there's nothing else to do on a weekend night.

Videos I've rented recently and thought were good picks:

Cold Fever
Murder by Death
The Devil's Backbone
Godsford Park
Dark Blue World
The Others

Later.

There shall be no Sign given...
Seems like Jersey and Dave needed to ask the lord for his signs before wasting his precious time on a bad movie. Think of all the sould you could've won in those 2(?) hours.(Jesus speaking): This film is not of me, but please don't ask me why, I'd have to see it first, who knows, I may change my mind like I did with Jonah.

The big JC on MIB II
This is too funny. What a genius of an art critic Jesus is.

*******************************
From Grapevine Issue 139; August 15, 2002
(Jesus:) If you liked the first Men in Black, you'll probably like this one too. It's fun, it's light-hearted, and while it doesn't really come up with anything new, it's still a good entertainment only type movie.
I know some of you enjoy these type of movies sometimes--the up-front silliness that's obviously merely trying to entertain. It's certainly less potentially harmful than the type of movies that preach their "message" and get across worldly viewpoints that get into your mind and spirit. Of course no matter how "innocent" the movie, you still have to be prayed up and on guard because there's no such thing as worldly entertainment that is "pure."
This movie is one of those you watch, you have a few laughs, and then you walk away and pretty much forget about it, and you had a couple hours of relaxation. I don't mind that. It's a little lackluster compared to the first one, but it's relatively harmless.  (reply to this post)

re.gifJohnnieWalker, August 27, 2002, 05:28
Rated "J" (for Jesus)
Well, gee thanks, Jesus! Nice to know you don't mind us having a couple hours of relaxation. Say, could you somehow annoint the already "double-annointed" prophets in WS to hear from you about a movie rating on a movie they HAVEN'T watched yet? It might help them save time, you know, that one thing they're always claiming they have so little of.

And, while we're at it, why do you think that this movie doesn't have an "underlying message"? I mean, if aliens are indeed trotting the globe, wouldn't that be some serious evidence against the need for you? Seriously now, if we humans are the only ones trying to save our planet from galatic agents of destruction, then what's the deal with you showing up in the sky to do that?

I bet you didn't think about that. No, you were probably too busy checking out the chicks in that movie, wondering how you could arrange for a Family person to meet them, tell them about "Loving Jesus", and thus set you up for a date. No, wait, you're gay, right? So you were most likely checking out Will's ass.

One more thing: How about you quit wasting time watching "entertainment only" movies, and answer some of the prayers the sincere believers in you are sending your way? I'm sure they would appreciate that a heck of a lot more than your comments on a movie they have no interest in watching anyway.

....You can't see yourself! That cloud of gas which you call yourself is vanishing into oblivion is it?! re.gifSomeone else, September 9, 2002, 04:18
You don't get it, do you??
look, some, who ever you are. I've looked around on this site a lot and I have to admit that although there's a lot of crap on here yours is the wierdest stuff I've seen so far. you said before that you're just mirroring. well why don't you mirror the intelligent stuff instead of the crap?? or is that too difficult for you??
(reply to this post)

re.gifSome, September 9, 2002, 04:39
At least you've acknowledged that the unintelligent stuff here is crap
I didn't say that mirroring was ALL I was doing. That was in response to a specific comment. Not that it's really important what I'm doing, but I have commented on some of the intelligent stuff as well, & may do so more in the future, once I've gotten past all the CRAP! Most of the intelligent stuff speaks for itself with very little that needs to be added!
(reply to this post)

re.gifSomeone else, September 9, 2002, 05:23
Ahem...90% of the crap here is yours ... clean it up!!
true true, the intelligent stuff doesn't need to be commented on....especially by people like you. if so many people are adding to and commenting on your posts it should say something about your posts' level of intelligence. btw, commenting on something intelligent doesn't mean you are intelligent. you obviously can't even write stuff that's intelligent enough to stand on its own without comment. and, ya know something...the reason you have to get past all the crap is because you're coming from the wrong direction!! why are you going through the crap anyway?? leave the crap where it is and start writing/thinking/being intelligent!!! or don't you know how to do that??
(reply to this post)

re.gifSome, September 9, 2002, 05:58
If this is MF, then I'm glad to see you've picked a more intelligent name
As far as whether it needs to be commented on by people like me remains to be seen. If you're that intelligent then read the post again & you'll see that I didn't say "going through" the crap, but "getting past" the crap. The difference may be subtle, but if you think long & hard with that new-found intelligence then you might figure out the difference! As to whether I can write intelligently enough or not may I suggest that much of what I've written has stood not "because" of people's comments, but "inspite" of it! The difference there is even less subtle so even you should be able to figure it out! Since you're so keen on preserving the "crap where it is", then I should point out that it is definately still where it is, like any pile of shite that some shite-lovers want to preserve, there should be a little notice where it is so as to avoid any poor unfortunate soul accidently stepping in it! It's called in most (intelligent) places a "public service"! As far as what direction I'm coming from, any smart guy is gonna tackle the most obvious obstacles first, so as to avoid him later being "out-flanked"!
(reply to this post)

re.gifSomeone else, September 9, 2002, 08:10
More like getting past your denseness
well continue on in your merry little fantasy world thinking that your posts stand "inspite". you are so obsessed with yourself and think your so good it's not even funny. I pitty you, man. I honestly pitty you. btw, my brother used to be a vs in england. he recognised your photo and told me his memories of you are not that great and that you aren't mentally stable. his wife confirmed it. i've never been to england and don't know what the infastructure is like there but there must be some sort of government program where you can visit a doctor who can help you. oh, that's right, you don't believe in doctors. well then pray and ask Jesus to cure you or something. whatever it is, do it quick cuz it looks like you need it badly.

I'm also glad you are now getting the point you should have your own private "public service" section on this site, so as to keep some "poor unfortunate soul" (anyone with a soul) from slipping in your continuously emanating verbal diarrhoea.
