The Medley Of Life

from itsxena2u - Wednesday, December 03, 2008

Life is often like a medley of ups and downs. Some days are better than others. One day you may feel like you're on top of the world and the next you may feel like you're all alone; like you're the last one standing.

Sometimes you feel like you could run circles around the world and yet other days you feel you just can't get out of bed. It's funny how life has a way of keeping you on your toes. It's like you never know what to expect. Sometimes you take certain things for granted and before you know it they're gone forever, and yet some things you think you will never get back end up finding their way back to you. Sometimes you feel like you're not strong enough to handle life's hard blows until you look down and realize you're still on your feet. You may get knocked around a bit from side to side but you're flexible enough to keep the winds of adversity from tearing you apart because your feet are planted firmly on the ground. You're stronger than you think you are, you're smarter than you give yourself credit for, you're braver than you ever wished you were, and you're wiser than you had ever believed you could be.

Every day is a struggle betwen right and wrong. It is a fight to keep your head above the water and keep from drowning. It's a fight for survival. Only the strongest and most enduring ones will succeed. How do you know you are strong enough? Only you can answer that question. A thousand men can hold you up but only the strength you find deep within yourself is what will keep you from falling. The opportunity that exists in each of us which enables us to accomplish anything, go anywhere, achieve great things and travel great distances if only we allow ourselves to do such.
True strength is not measured by physical appearance, financial or social status. It is measured by one's ability to withstand the toughest of circumstances and make the most out of any situation regardless of how small or insignificant it may appear to be. Strength is not measured by how great you are in this world but how great this world is because you are in it.

What is happiness? Happiness is a state of well being. It is being able to find peace with your inner self: a feeling of trust and reassurance that everything is going to be okay even when everything seems to point to the contrary. Happiness is not getting everything you want but treasuring what you do have and making the best of each moment in your life. True happiness is not just being able to smile through your tears but in spite of them. It is the ability to find something positive out of what seems to be a negative experience. The key to happiness lies not only in the ability to fulfill your dreams but feeling fulfilled in everything you do until you reach your goal.
