    Sleeping serpent in your egg,
    Do not awake, I beg, I beg.
    Stay encased, dark and warm,
    Know no fear, know no harm.

    Hidden terror remain concealed,
    Destructive nature unrevealed.
    For while contained within that shell,
    I am unafraid and well.

    But if you merge out of that sphere,
    And have free space a serpent t’be.
    Poisoning nature dwelling here,

    Setting fear at liberty….

    Where will sleep my certainty?
    Oh do not wake, monstrosity!

    This deceptively simple poem was well-made.

    It had rhyme and meter and meaning without trying.

    I liked how the meter complimented the poems progression and became more stillted as if to mirror the uncertainty.

    Post some more.
