Broken Dolls

from a grain of salt - Thursday, January 27, 2005
accessed 1278 times

scream for your answer and
recieve the silence,
staring beyond to what you
cannot hope to see.

and stand again to challenge,
and weep again for broken dolls,
and broken lives,
faded dreams long past remembering.

slightly smile with eyes
half-closed, throat all caught
up with sorrow.

Begin again.
Benign hopes,
naiive wishes,

shattered now-
torn down by those
you needed most.

realize at last that
the chasm is far,
far too wide-

the silence,
so oppressive,
weighing heavily on the mind.

eyes that focus on what
they do not wish to see.

speak the words,
bend your head, and mind, and will,

break your pride to
make them smile,

stare beyond to keep
from weeping.

a very very old one

 The every so often poll.

 The semi-anual poll.

Whenever the editor gets to it poll.

The poll you never heard about because you have never looked at previous polls which really means the polls that never got posted.
