Getting Through : Creative Writing

You write a poem when your heart is broken

You write a poem when your heart is broken
Or you go for a walk out in the fields
You take your time, you look around
Thinking is it worth being so broken down
He walks in peace, it’s so easy over there
You struggle, but you’re not getting anywhere
He sees your smile and notes the tone in your eyes
Still, you never know where your friendship lies
You wonder why he hurts you, if he’s really worth the time
He’s an arrogant man. He’s got much on his mind
You make yourself wonder, how it’s really gonna be
You can’t spend the rest life in this eternity
Moments pass and moments go but somehow you are stuck
You’ve got to face your future and lift your spirit up
He knows your feelings now and holds your heart in his hand
Though he may not be as mean as you’re made to understand
Ignorant maybe, but that’s a manly fault
You can’t really blame him for being a stupid colt
You’ve been a fool yourself, to let your spirit go
And now you reap the consequences of what you've sown
You’re tired of the burden as you bleed along the way
You got so much on your mind yet so very little to say
So think about your future and the life you have in store
There are beautiful things out there, not everything goes to the floor
It hurts to be ignored, I know and it shouldn’t have to be
But for him life is so different and that you have to see
He struggles with emotions, and perhaps a troubled past
He doesn’t really trust you and wonders if you’ll last
Maybe he’ll get over it and come out as a friend
You really never know how a love story can end
But keep your mind on your future and what you have in store
Just trust me on this one, not all goes to the floor…

Well written and very touching. You ought to pursue writing poetry

I thought this was really touching and poetic. Life and love isn't always beautiful or neat or even good. This poem expresses that.

Please, no one else break Elle's heart, lest the world be subjected to more poems like this one!!

Okay, you're forgiven then. I wrote really shitty poetry four years ago too, I can't even bear to read some of it.(reply to this comment
