Introducing RISE International CIC

Dear MovingOn.org participants,

This may be of interest to many of you.

We would like to introduce our new organization RISE International. Its directors include a number of people who were born and raised in The Family/Children of God cult. We have organized ourselves for two critical reasons:

1) To protect children from abuse in cults
2) To support those who seek justice for crimes committed against them while growing up in cults

We are based in the UK and will be soon setting up an office in the US. Our organization will work internationally.

We, as much as anyone on this website, are aware of the difficulty in this work. However the obstacles involved will never deter us from the pursuit of safe living environments for children and justice for individuals who were brutalized and abused as children within cults.

We begin our work off the success of the book, Not Without My Sister, written by Juliana Buhring, Celeste Jones and Kristina Jones, who are all directors of RISE International.

Not Without My Sister, which details horrendous abuse suffered within the Children of God/The Family and how it was overcome, is already a top selling book in the UK and Australia. As of yesterday it is ranked no 6 in book sales across the UK.

We feel we are starting off very strongly and have essentially hit the ground running. We intend to build momentum, generate support and bring the issue to the power brokers within society and government at every level necessary.

Right now we are in the process of putting our first major campaigns together and will have more details as soon as they are finalized.

We would like to reiterate to those of you who may be interested in supporting us or utilizing our services that we do know the degree of effort involved in this area and are committed to pursuing every single avenue available in order to protect children from abuse and assist those who were abused achieve justice. In the words of Hannibal ‘We will either find a way or make one’, we have been trying to find a way for a long long time so now it is time to make one.

In order to succeed we need you to support us, in whatever way you can: through the provision of information, donating financially, spreading the word about RISE International, etc.
