HELP NEEDED - JOB - RELOCATION

from Frank - Tuesday, August 17, 2004
accessed 1838 times

I just wanted to ask for some help from you all.

Since leaving The Family six years ago, I pretty much have stayed in the Middle East area. I found work as a web developer. I was wondering if anyone could help me find work either in the UK or USA. I am a Filipino citizen. The Middle East is a great place, but with all of the troubles here, it's just not a place to reside anymore.

So if you think you can help me in some way or another or want to see my CV, please let me know, email me at progdeman@ yahoo.com/hotmail.com. If anybody has any idea how I can make this move, please send it in, I would really appreciate it! Looking forward to hear from any of you all out there! This is a sincere request for help, I am all alone here. I'm sure some of you can relate to this.

Have you tried getting into Europe? Since your already over there in the mid-east it might be easier than coming over here to the States. Phillipinos generally have it easier than most other citizens but you would still have to get a work visa to enter the States. After about 4 or 5 years of continually living over here, you generally get full citizenship. It helps if you have an education, Lady Liberty surely doesn't mind if your poor and destitute but she sure makes it tough on people without an education. OH btw a student visa might be a good way to come in, but you can't hold a job while being a student unless it's part time.

Thanks for the input. I don't think I would go for the education scheme, with the experience I've had in and out of TF is plenty. I am currently working as a senior web developer, in the same company since I've left. Try seeing some of my work. I work for a comapny here in Lebanon for www.netways.com. Here's some of them. www.eliesaab.com www.netways.com www.hyundai-uae.com www.kia-uae.com www.bbac.com.lb

Anyhow, if anyone stumble across any opening in your area, please let me now... you can write to montes@netways.com

Are you American or European? If you're not then bella's advice is the best start. Otherwise, you probably want to save up at least a gran or two and get your ass over here and grab whatever you can to get started. It's not that hard to get a starting job usually... you just can't be afraid to start with a simple job while you find something better. I've changed jobs several times, and always gotten paid a little more. The goal for me is to be my own boss and that way you can really start seing some upper mobility.

If you're interested in getting better at your field of choice, web design, etc... you can also go to college and get placement at whatever academic level you're best fitted for, don't bother with trying to go to highschool to get a degree first (It's just a babysitting location for kids to keep from getting into trouble while their hormones get the best part of them) School is a great way to get socialized with the current admosphere of your community, because that's probably the key to getting a good job, creating a sense of confidance, that's what gets you into management, of course skill always helps.

Good luck.

Fuck off, Cultinvator. The only reason you're the head baloon-maker is because of the way you suck up to Mr Bubbles. That's why he's moving you up to Target while the rest of us are stuck at Wal Mart! Clown-noses are supposed to be red, not brown! (reply to this comment

I imagine you'll be needing a work visa for the States? You might try looking on monster.com to see if anyone who is hiring is willing to provide a working visa. It's a start. Good luck!

Kamusta Ka. No I'm not pinoy.

Visited Cebu a month ago. Such a beautiful place, I'd live there if I could. I'd also like to know if there are any exers in PI, as I visit Cebu, Metro Manila, Valenzuela, Quezon, and Angeles from time to time. Next time I want to see Palawan and Davao though.(reply to this comment
