Getting Support : Speaking Out

To Deluded "devilcatcher"

from Nick - Wednesday, May 10, 2006
accessed 1606 times

It's amazing how deluded this person is. These examples of "why it's better to be in the family sound like typical propaganda that was fed to him over devotions one morning. Let me address each one for you.

Benefits of being in the family.
1_You don’t have to work seven hours a day to eat.
What an extreme exaggeration! You imply that everyone has to work all day every day just to make enough for food. People do not only work to eat, they work to better their lives and enrich society. Unlike you lazy ass's that sit around most days and accomplish just about nothing.

2_You know your kid’s teacher personally.
For a start these "teachers" are nothing more than unaccredited "aunty" with no more teaching skills that any other mother on the street! 1/2 of the time these teachers are unable to even offer an accredited school diploma. Anyway, thats not true! I know my kids teacher and communicate with her about my son. I don't however, live in the same house and "share" with her when I feel like it.

3_You don’t have to worry if they are taking drugs, drinking or smoking.

Maybe not, but child rape, forced labor and sub quality education are the norm. Besides, being in the family is not the cure all for ending drug use with kids. Any good parenting is.

4_You chose your own career (the choices are multiple.)

For a start, you have 10 times as much freedom to choose your carrier when your NOT in the family. Anyway, what the hell do you mean about "choices are multiple"? They are not at all and consist of maybe Childcare, Handyman, Outreach and cook.

5_You have the satisfaction of doing something good (I’m not saying you can only feel that way in the family.)

You can do more good working for the red cross or some real charity that doesn't take 10 home members to do a once a month CTP for 2 hrs.

6_You can get your food or practically anything without paying by provisioning.

LOL, yeah, have you seen the food you guys eat and the clothes you all wear? What's sad is that because you have never lived the good live you actually think that garbage that they give you is decent!

7_The benefits of fellowship and companionship.

OK, this one is one the biggest misconceptions of family people. Since leaving the family I have had more true friends and real relationships and have experience true love. Not this Fake "I love you because Jesus loves you" crap! To you all making a friend means having them pay for your dinner while you try to solicit money from them. And the friends you have in the family are ones that are forced on you because you don’t have anyone else in the home to talk to.

8_You learn communication and relationship skills early in life.

Another HUGE misconception! Family members have little or no communication skills except for communicating with your own kind. You have no chance to socialize with normal people. Bottom line is that once you do leave the cult you are a complete moron for a few years till you finally assimilate into society.

9_Plenty of change. Change is such a natural part of our lives that sometimes you hardly notice how lucky you are till you don’t have it anymore.

If you mean getting thrown from one huge comune to anothr every 6 months then I gues you do have change.

10_Lots of travel . Out of the family, if you want to travel, unless you're wealthy you have to work hard and cut costs for a long time to save up the money to make your trip. And to actually move to another country is even more difficult. In the Family, you fun rise for you trip. (Right of mobility)

Yeah, I remember traveling in the family. You have a PB&J sandwich, a cheep buss ticket and a black garbage bag with your bedding. Then you get to go to a new home in another country where they have the exact same 3 buckets for washing dishes and the same devotions in the morning. Now my travel consists of a 5 star resort in Costa Rica, The MGM Grand in Vegas or a resort in San Diego. And the best part, I didn’t have to spend the whole time selling crapppy posters or having to provision each meal I ate.

11_Out of the family a lot of young people--and older folks too--worry about catching AIDS. It's a very legitimate fear, as AIDS is one of the leading causes of death among young people in the U.S. and other countries. No fear of that in the family.

I have NO idea where you get your stat's from but AIDS is no where near the leading cause of death for young people! It's not even close to being on the charts as a leading cause! Seriously, where did you get your stats from???? I want to know.

12_Interest-free loans . Your Home would like to purchase a vehicle but doesn't have the money on hand to do it. In the Family you can take out an interest-free loan. Where can you find that out there? Almost nowhere! Most people in Western countries are in debt--that's how they can afford their lifestyle--and have to spend a lot of money just paying off the interest on their loans.

Your loans are limited to a VERY small amount. Like maybe 3 or 4k tops. Anyway, look in your local paper and you will see interest free car loans every day! Or No interest loans for 18 months on PC's or furniture! Sorry dude, your dead wrong on that one. While there are some people that have huge interest rates and are burred under interest, that is NOT the norm for most people.

13_Learning languages/cultures . In the family you have much more occasions to learn different .

Anyone can go to school and learn another language.

14_ Equal opportunity. In the Family we have equal opportunity for all.

Ummmm, that’s the law dude. Every company has to adhere to that under threat of lawsuits.

15_.No mortgages . Because Dad has encouraged us to rent housing rather than buy, Family members are not burdened by large mortgages, which are common to most families in society.

So you pay $1,000's each moth in rent so that your landlord can get rich! Wow, smart business plan dude! Let me explain this to ya. If your landlords mortgage is $1,500 a month, you are gonna be paying him $1,500 a month in rent to cover that loan payment! So in reality you are paying rent none stop and never building any equity at all! I bet if your home took that rent money over the last 10 years and put that towards a mortgage you would be 1/2 paid off by now! Not to mention that rent's go up over the years and your mortgage always stays the same. What an IDIOT!

16_Healthier lifestyle . Because of Dad's good training, we live a much healthier lifestyle than the vast majority of people in the world. We eat better, and we're not so dependent on medicine and pharmaceutical drugs that would screw up our bodies, which are a way of life in Western countries. We don't smoke, we don't drink excessively, and we try to get good exercise.

Well I'll be! How in the world did Berg come up with such a ingenious health plan? Eating healthy and exercise. Why didn't the rest of the world ever think of that???
fucking dumbass! Everyone knows if you eat healthy you live better. That’s not any big family secret, it’s common sense.

17_Economical . If you took a Home's income and divided it between each family or single, there's no way they could survive on that little if they were living alone. They'd be way below the poverty line! That shows the benefits of communal living.

Yes, but you have to live like crap in a fucking commune with 25 people to a room, no privacy and 3 inches of closet space all so you can feed a home of 30 for $0.25 a piece? Sorry, but I will pay the extra to be able to live in a 3 bedroom house for just my GF and myself and y son when he comes to visit.

18_Help for single moms. That shows the benefits of the law of love and sharing.

What a load of crap! Single mom's are the people that no home ever wants and are looked upon as a burden. Not to mention that and guy can fuck around and not have to pay ANY child support if he decides he wants to fuck off and leave.

19_You can listen to music without thinking that there might be subliminal messages in them.

LMFAO! Yeah, we really do gotta be careful about how the illuminati goes around putting secret messages telling us to kill all family members in all music. RETARD!!! Typical of the absolute RUBBISH these people swallow!

Great job!!! You "hit the mark" on every one of those and I think you'll get another "diamond in your crown" for it!!! Here's my favorite part: "you live like crap in a fucking commune with 25 people to a room, no privacy and 3 inches of closet space all so you can feed a home of 30 for $0.25 a piece"

Did anyone else notice how old the first generation is starting to look? Not just old, but frighteningly scary old.

It was fascinating looking through those photos. After I got over the shock of seeing my own father's smiling mug -- and he's supposedly not even IN the Family anymore -- I realize that there was half a generation missing from those pictures.

I kept looking for people that I might recognize, people in my general age bracket. And of those that were there -- most probably as staff support -- I knew them, or at the least knew who they were.

And then there was everyone else....some of them barely teenagers, maybe 13, going on up to the late teens. Some of them toddlers and YCs when the Charter came out. Babies really, in microcosm of the Family, kids without the foggiest clue of what they'd been born into and the legacy of pain they've inherited, trying to be cool, feeling important and all that. And really, I just felt sorry for them.

They have no fucking clue.(reply to this comment

I think the photos of the graduation are particularly depressing. A fake graduation and prom that mimics a high school graduation, complete with throwing hats in the air. And these are people who probably don't even have a high school education.(reply to this comment

Man, just get over it and admit you want out.

What'll come next? Let's look at some future possibilities.

FFE=Family Fucking Entertainment. All you sexy hoes for jezuz get up on the mattress, coz tonight is a three-way tag team fuck. Brought to you live!!

Heaven cup = Don't wanna be worldly, so let's go for some inspiring "my cup runneth over" tournaments. Those who pass the qualifiers get to meet up in Switzerland for the final games. And guess what? VAS is gonna sing at halftime.

Talent notes = jezuz wants everybody to be happy. Since some of you naughty teen terrors slip away at dish time, we've come up with the ultimate plan. Talent notes! You need talent notes to get the good stuff. Movies, Music, Sex. You earn talent notes by cheerily washing dishes, changing baby's diaper, or blowing uncle jim. Every man is rewarded according to his work. Yay.(reply to this comment

My TF nieces and nephews all went to Wordstock this year.

First off, I am disgusted with what it took to get them all down there: each kid had to "raise" nearly $300 to attend. How do 12 to 16 year olds, who are supposed to be in school, raise that much money? In a normal family, the parents pay for camp for the kids, right? 'Course, I am totally in favor of parents working hard to take care of their kids - that's cool. But the only way my sister can pay for her kids is to work her TF approved entertainment job. Which is what she did until she has made herself sick. Now my sister is laid up from a chronic illness caused by her TF "job". There’s no medical insurance, no doctor, no support of any kind from TF. She's in serious pain and I think it took her the entire Wordstock week to recover her strength.

You can say, as I often do, that it is my sister's own choice to join a cult, end up with a zillion kids from multiple boyfriends & strangers, develop no marketable skills, live in depressing hand-to-mouth poverty and spend every waking moment begging for provisions. But TF is also exploiting her-taking full advantage of the trapped position she is in.

Wordstock III may have had a theme, if my nieces and nephews are any indication. They came home brimming with excitement, wanting to move to a "foreign mission field". Soon, I fear, they will all move away to a third or even fourth world country, to live in even more poverty. Their home-schooling will probably stop and it will be harder for me to be in touch with them and harder for them to get out of there when they want to. Not a pretty picture.

that one about the "healthy lifestyle" made me laugh. Didn't Berg drink Himself to death? He was a raging alcoholic. Putting raw eggs and peanut butter in your coffee is not considered healthy. I'm in better shape now than I ever was.

BRAVO! for this nifty rebuttal. The first assumption--working all day to put food on the table--was particularly laughable to me. At my hourly rate, I work less than an hour a day to put food on the table. And I work for something besides money; as you said, many people work to contribute to the betterment of society. Item #14 is actually rebutted by item #18: There really isn't equal opportunity for single moms, since few homes want the burden of their children; also, some people are more equal than others in TFI: Good looking, sexy, submissive women who put out are likely to go much further up the food chain than ordinary-looking women who are reluctant to go down on the old farts and ask too many questions. As far as the guys are concerned, I've never been able to figure out the alpha male formula for TFI leadership, except that they've figured out how to get in touch with their spiritual vaginas.

Bravo Nick. Good Article!

I think #3, not having to worry about your kids taking drugs, is just a false sense of security that family people have. I know many people my age (28) and even more that are my younger brothers and sisters ages that started smoking pot while they were in the family. (And I'm not preaching against pot here, I'll save that for some other time).

People in the family have blinders on. They're mentality is that they are in god's highest will and therefore all of the "systems evils" couldn't possibly happen to them. Instead of being open minded and talking to their kids about drug and alcohol abuse, they just assume that their kids are better and will never have a problem with those things.

A couple of years ago I visited a family home and all of the teenagers were drinking (much more than the allowed quota for the adults mind you). The adults in that home were all classic binge drinkers. No booze all week and then they'd start with their 2 glasses of wine and slowly finish off all of the wine in the house which was a lot since I was doing the buying. Not once did anyone bat an eye at that behaviour.

Not only that, but I would say that the percentage of kids that leave the family that have taken drugs is probably unproportionatly higher than the average kid from the burbs.

I am not saying that everyone that leaves is a druggy, but I would say that a huge portion have experimented. I mean look at the kid that died in Alf and Sara's home after smoking some laced pot last year.

It’s just amazing to see how blinded these people are and makes me cringe to think that I to once believed there crap to be the truth!

Have more likely hood of turning to drugs and alcohol to dull the memories and ease the pain. TF have no concept about emotional health.
