Heinlein...

Do you guys think that Berg used the science fiction of Heinlein to form some of his edicts? From "Stranger in a Strange Land" to "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" I see alot of things that Berg could have picked up and used to his own purposes. I recall reading in one of Heinlein's books about the hero having sex with his cloned "daughters" and with his mother as well during a time traveling adventure... I see many similarities between Bergs "ideas" and Heinlein's radical (at the time) fiction.

Have any of you read Heinlein and do you think that "MO" did as well?

This group Heinlein talks about called: "The Fosterites" sound just like the Family.

Heinlein pointed out that sex, music and christianity made for a very potent combination. Charles Manson loved "Stranger in a Strange Land.",and I think Berg ripped him off too.

I do, that really does ring true. Because the early sixties was when Heinlein really reached a height of acclaim. Counterculture icon even before there was such a thing.

Remember Berg was an isolated, introverted child who loved to read. He picked up many things from his readings and also from the popular culture not only of his day but also of the 60's and 70's. I was watching this old film, The French Connection, made sometime in the 70's and I remember reading a letter also titled The French Connection published around the same time. I am quite sure Berg read sci-fi or fiction from the sixties and 70's remember The Lion the Witch and the wardrobe? The author reached his height at this time too. Your question, wondering, would really have to do with the psychiatrics and thought patterns of serial killers, rapists, or child molesters. Alot of these sick fucks, are introverted, lonely children or were raised in strict household with all forms of abuse. This conditions breed ideal environments for these sick molesters to formulate ideas and fascinations for their crimes. It's a wonder that more of us 2nd gen aren't some wierdo wackos like Berg, having been abused or raised in such strict environments. (reply to this comment

Intressting comment. I`m sure that I`m not alone when I say that i think that i fit the definition of a introverted psychopath. I mean look where we where brought up. We where brought up in the same if not worse invironment just like Berg was now look at what it has made us. I know some of you out there are thinking the same thing.

We have developed alot of weird things up there in our heads...unspeakable things. But is it our fault? I fit that description exactly when you talked about being introverted and into sci-fi and feeling lonley and sick in the brain and have sick fascinations. I my self am barely making it this far with out being discoverd how I have become mentally unstable an introvert, psychotic, schitzofrenic with a double personality. There are times when I have do not have feeling or respect for others...for life. I just want to kill, kill, kill men, women and children without even feeling remorse. I feel like...who cares we are all gonna die its all meaningless to be on this planet, there is nothing to live for. I cant offer anything to this world I just wanna hide in my apartment with my computer and surf thru sick things and have sick friends and do sick and crimeful things all the time.

Karen Zerby is the mother of evil. She is a festering cunt full of flies. I have a need to chastize her and f_ her hard everyday and kiss her filthy kock sucking mouth. I have erotic dreams of her and peter being impaled on a cross the feeling nearly gave me a hernia. I hear the cries of the children of who have been pedofiled in the wee hours of the nights their undeveloped organs acheing and shivering. Zerby is a pathetically beautiful whore trapped with me in my sacred dungeon. Her teeth rot and she screams as I pluck her teeth out and I chew her eyes with my teeth and I masterbate to her shrieking and whoreing writhings

All in all we will all die one day and I just hope that I will live long enough to pick the flowers for my grave while i piss in the wind of never ending darkness. I hope that the sexy quadraplegic angels will will carry us all up into the nothingness of naught.

We must prepare for the coming of the winds of naught. They do lurk as we walk in the never ending roads of pain and suffering. I pick my brain of the larve that feeds on the damaged brain cells. May they suppleament the lucky ones who have a need for love.

I like this site. Its nice to meet with old friends and to catch up. Me and my prostate are very pleased with the progress made here.

Hahaha...I probably shouldn't say anything but I think this person has a good, albeit Ever So Slightly morbid, sense of humour. I mean, c'mon, he's almost waxing sweetly poetic in his last sentences.
Whoever you are, check out www.rotten.com and post your fecal matter on sites (like that) dedicated to decaying minds who have the need to sit in (cyber) circles smearing each other with the excrement of carrion.
You may like Edgar Allen Poe's short (horror) stories. I like "sexy quadraplegic angels"! But "chew her eyes with my teeth"?? Hahahahaha....(reply to this comment

Systemites make medicine for problems like yours. Consider the possibility that a large part of your problem is messed up brain chemistry from an abusive childhood. Brain chemistry can be changed with the right combination of psychotropic medications. A lot of what you describe is called "dissociation." It's the way your mind learned to cope with abuse.

Also consider the possibility that another part of your problem is the irrational reasoning and ego defense mechanisms you learned growing up in TFI. Sado-masochism is rooted in guilt and anxiety. You can learn to think differently and change your perceptions of reality if you choose to do the work that's involved with talk therapy. You may have a hard time finding a therapist who can deal with your bizaare stories of abuse, but there are professionals out there skilled at listening to cult survivors.

Messed-up brain chemistry, irrational reasoning, and the overrall effects of poor socialization are not your fault, but these conditions are your responsibility. Fate dealt you a crappy hand of cards. You can fold 'em and give up, or you can try drawing again and trust the odds you'll get a winning combination when you play under your own rules. With just one high card and some finesse, you can win the game, but no one can change your current situation but you.(reply to this comment

here's what I figured out on this one.

there are myriad thoughts swirling around when your mind is on the loose, as in: you're not busy at work, doing something, conversation, whatever. I've discovered that I can choose them, instead of them choosing me. A lot of so called fantasizing is actually someone else's cast-off thoughts running around in your mind, think your own fucking thoughts, have your own fantasies.

I mean when you've been outside in the city, you wash your hands and wipe your feet when you get home if you don't want to get sick; a thousand random people's germs on your food and in your bed? Why be less discriminating about a thousand random people's thoughts, ideas, sex dreams.

Same with 'voices' - turn the channel, turn it off. Question the source. If you are talking to a person that's talking nonsense or harm, nothing forces you to continue the conversation, argue, agree, nothing. Why should you have less power over etheric elements?

It isn't a theory, either, actually this works...I'll be going on in my mind about something and I'm like: HEY! Thats not how I feel about this, or, I don't even like that.

Be special.

my heart goes out to you about what all that did to you, at least you can understand what few can, maybe they'll listen to you as you'll have a form of compassion few do.(reply to this comment

Most of the wacko Berg-like head cases in TFI's second generation are probably still in the group, largely because that environment supports them as "normals." I honestly believe some SGs (and FGs, for that matter) are too messed up to successfully transition from life in TF to the system.(reply to this comment
