    Getting On : Faith

    I haven't been revewing and need some help

    I can't even find my old "Family" bible with all the cross references in it.

    I got into a discussion with a pentacostal who tried to tell me that even though I had at one point been saved that I was still going to hell because I am now an "unbeliever". I told her that there is a verse in the Bible that says something along the lines of "I am married to the backslider" but now I can't find it or my bible, so I was wondering if any of you ex(or current ) bible geinuses could help me with this.

    The verse you're thinking of is Jeremiah 3:14:

    "Turn, O backsliding children saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion"

    In my opinion the best verse for you to quote would be John 6:37:

    "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."

    (Sour grapes alert) Oh well, at least my head isn't full of "Dianetics", it could be worse.

    Both of these verses imply that you must be repentant; thus, it may still be possible to lose your salvation.(reply to this comment)
