Getting On : Lovers

Love... Only In Dreams

from madly - Friday, November 23, 2007
accessed 1072 times

It was you, but who had I become? Who was this person who loved so easily? Like the hot summer wind you blew through me, melting away the fear and I breathed you in, as if you were air. You crashed upon me and the seasons changed, storming, blooming and creating who I was to become. I had finally jumped and had fallen into a life waiting to catch me.

We laughed and cried in a way only children do. We lived as if there were neither days nor nights, but only a moment shared between us. Time stood still to watch us, mesmerized by our timelessness. Stars flew by, surrounding us, taking their time to burn out. The Sun hid behind the clouds, embarrassed by our passion, and the moon neither waxed nor waned, but smiled in our fullness. For a time, the world was ours and we were… we were in love.

You… you were like a fine wine that needed to be opened gently, breathed in and left on the tongue to taste, and then swallowed over and over… again and again. Addicted to your taste I became, and I needed you, wanted you… craved you. Your eyes were the only eyes to ever see me, and your touch gave me the peace I had long desired. You looked at me and I unraveled; you whispered and I was your ear. You came though me, lived in me, and I wrapped my arms around you and made a home.

You were an instant, yet forever, and no time was time enough for our moment created to last. Fingers to fingers, lips to lips; our bodies intertwined, until I didn’t know where you ended and I began. I wanted to explore you as if you were a foreign land. Touching, tasting, licking, biting, I took my time discovering you… I couldn’t get enough! Your smell was put to memory and your kiss remains even still.

With you, the world may have not been okay, but I was okay with the world. I was at ease and my mind stopped spinning long enough for me to see more than just another question. You put your fingers to my lips, hushed me and told me that I was like a beautiful child learning to understand this life, and you were a man in love, ready to spend your life trying to understand me. You believed that life wasn’t about changing into something worth loving, but finding someone who loved the something life had changed you into.

You were enough for me, and I needed you in a world where I don’t allow myself to need. Sadly, you are not real, because you were only a dream. You are slowly vanishing, as dreams often do, and I am losing the memory of you, as well as the memory of the me, you created. Why can I only find you while asleep and why does such a love only come in a dream I have to wake from?

This is a very haunting song. ...

======================================

You better love loving and you better behave
You better love loving and you better behave
Woman in chains, woman in chains

Calls her man the great white hope
Says she's fine, she'll always cope, ooh
Woman in chains, woman in chains

Well, I feel lying and waiting is a poor man's deal (A poor man's deal)
And I feel hopelessly weighed down by your eyes of steel
(Your eyes of steel)
Well, It's a world gone crazy keeps woman in chains, woh woh woh
Woman in chains, woman in chains

Trades her soul as skin and bones
(You better love loving and you better behave)
Sells the only thing she owns
(You better love loving and you better behave) ooh ooh
Woman in chains (the sun and the moon), woman in chains

Men of stone, men of stone, hey baby, no no no, ooh

Well, I feel deep in your heart there are wounds time can't heal
(The time can't heal)
And I feel somebody somewhere is trying to breathe
Well, you know what I mean
It's a world gone crazy keeps woman in chains

It's under my skin but out of my hands
I'll tear it apart (somebody somewhere is trying)
But I won't understand (to breathe)
I will not accept the greatness of man
It's a world gone crazy keeps woman in chains
Gone crazy keeps woman in chains

So free her, so free her, so free her
So free her, so free her (the sun and the moon)
So free (the wind and the rain) her, so free her
So free her, so free her, so free her, so free her
So free her, so free her (the sun and the moon)
So free (the wind and the rain) her, so free her

What inspires you to write? You don't have to answer (especially if it is too personal), but it seems like you have had a lot very profound experiences in your life (haven't we all), and I am very curious and intrigued by what moves you to write such inspirational material!?

This poem expresses the exact way I felt 4yrs ago.

Everything inspires me… everything! A song, a picture, a feeling, a storm, a sad story I hear from someone else that touches me, but more than anything my life and the feelings it has given me.

I have an energy in me that never sleeps and my writing gives it the life it craves. Writing helps me release it for a bit, just like running does. I have to write, you see… I have no choice. If I kept these crazy ideas cooped up in my head, I fear they may grow and overtake me, or worse, I may actually start to believe them. Yes, I know, I am a bit crazy, thus my name.

Thanks for your sweet comments. You seem like a very nice person and I am happy your life is going well and that you found a way to be content. I am honestly envious of you. I hope one day I will have the same. (reply to this comment

Well, I really hope that you do something with this energy! If you ever write a draft and want someone to read it for its content, I am very interested.

Take some courses in creative writing, as it will force you to write, and teach you how to make MONEY off this "talent" (or whatever you want to call it). Your ego will grow also when you get into a room and compare your writing with other class-mates! When you write things in class, if you feel it is good, submit it for an award that the school gives out. That will increase your confidence and also get your name out there! Also it will give you the chance to explore other types of writings, and you will learn a lot about yourself.

Watch you already be doing this! If so, just take this advice as a compliment.Lol!!

I naturally associate with other "crazy girls," as I guess I have magnant to other girls like myself!Lol!! So, I pray you don't find it "too" overbearing if I start checking up on your progress as a writer?! Lol!(reply to this comment

”She seems to have an invisible touch yeah
She reaches in, and grabs right hold of your heart
She seems to have an invisible touch yeah
It takes control and slowly tears you apart.

Well I dont really know her, I only know her name
But she crawls under your skin, youre never quite the same, and now I know
Shes got something you just CANT TRust
Its something mysterious
And now it seems Im falling, falling for her.

She dont like losing, to her its still a game
And though she will mess up your life,
Youll want her just the same, and now I know
She has a built in ability
To take everything she sees
And now it seems Ive fallen, fallen for her.”

SONNET 113

Since I left you, mine eye is in my mind;
And that which governs me to go about
Doth part his function and is partly blind,
Seems seeing, but effectually is out;
For it no form delivers to the heart
Of bird of flower, or shape, which it doth latch:
Of his quick objects hath the mind no part,
Nor his own vision holds what it doth catch:
For if it see the rudest or gentlest sight,
The most sweet favour or deformed'st creature,
The mountain or the sea, the day or night,
The crow or dove, it shapes them to your feature:
Incapable of more, replete with you,

My most true mind thus makes mine eye untrue.

A perfect world?

Since we're dreaming, a perfect world for me would include...

No wars, at all. Terrorists would not be able to develop anything more dangerous than a steak knife.

A process that would turn our garbage into petroleum, taking care of the world's garbage problems, and producing cheaper gas.

A gadget that would allow you to increase or reduce the volume of music in clubs, so that you can dance the night away without hurting your ears, while club owners would not have to worry about some beaureaucratic "noise law" that was written at least 20 years before the club was built.

Mc. Donald's would serve breakfast all day.

Elections would take place every six months. Politicians would then not have nearly as much money to run slick, expensive ad campaigns (where they pretty much lie), and would be more likely to serve the will of the people.

Cell phones would be equipped with motion sensors, and would turn off and begin taking messages for calls when the car is in motion. If the owner tries to answer their cell phone, or make a call of their own while they are driving, the cell phone would lock. This applies to all functions: text messaging, games, photo send, and video send. 911, of course, would always be available. If there is more than one person in the car, then the cell phone would function as usual.

Wal Mart would accept money for organizations that do charity work in Asia, to offest the atrocious wages and living conditions that the products you just purchased were made under. Or better yet, they could raise the price on each item by 2% and give that money back to the communities that the products were made in so that they can have some form of life.

A revolution would occur in Mexico that allows for better living standards for the Mexican people. Because America building a fence won't take care of the underlying problems that would make someone want to run across the border in the first place.

A pizzeria on every street corner, just like in Italy!

Knowing you, this wasn't posted with the intention of having comments added to its forum, but I have a small one if you'll oblige me; I envy your dream. The content, your ability to dream, and the person you dream of. I’m as clueless as it gets when it comes to love, and I have long assumed that it was, is, and will continue to always be an ideology that belongs in the realm of dreams and left out of real life. If it is real, and there’s a chance at it, I’m sure you’ll be the one fortuitous enough to experience it before it’s all said and done and if your fortunes lead you that way, I hope it will be with the person of your dreams.

“I have long assumed that it was, is, and will continue to always be an ideology that belongs in the realm of dreams and left out of real life.”

Unfortunately, I feel I must concur. The kind of love I crave, the purest truest kind, is completely unattainable in this life… in real life. I know this and I have come to terms with it, somewhat. I am not happy about it, but I settle for the other things in life that seem to come easily to me. I know I can only blame myself for being unrealistic, but what can I say, I am just a fire cracker sort of girl. Part of it may be that I don’t think I can find a person that I can love in that way, but the real issue is probably more that I could never believe that someone could love me in that way.

I don’t trust love; the very word doesn’t sit right with me. There is too much attached to this little word for it to ever be precisely defined in a way that gives it any merit to anyone other than the individual deciding on the definition. However, this word is universal and everyone takes it for granted that it means basically the same thing, when it just doesn’t. When you say “love”, that is your love, his love, her love, not mine, not shared and never understood by the simple word used alone. When something means something differently to everyone, how do we know what the fuck people are talking about when we throw this word around? Can it, and should it, ever mean the same thing to different people and if it doesn’t then should we even try to pretend it is some universally accepted emotion or action or anything other than a little word that we alone define and use according to our own discretion? Trying to define emotions seems silly to me anyway.

Love was ruined for me at an early age. All this “I love you” crap I was raised with made me view love as what liars say when they are about to hurt you, use, humiliate and abuse you. “I love you” means I am going to torment you, cause you pain and create memories you will be trying to rid yourself of for the rest of you life. When someone tells me they love me, I wait for the hand to fall, for the pain to follow and the heartache to begin. I subconsciously slowly begin to break away from them, so they can’t hurt me by this ugly word I am so used to hearing and so utterly sick of. It is weird saying this out loud, but this is what I do and this is who I am.

Something is shut down inside me and I can’t turn it back on. As sad as I am about it, I don’t think I can ever view love in a pure way again, at least not in this life. But hey, that’s what dreams are for, right? I lost the meaning of love when it was said to me a million times, with out ever having any meaning behind it. If you hear the same word over and over again, I think you reach a point where you just stop hearing it. In the same way, you stop feeling it or hoping for it, because it becomes bullshit? They didn’t love me, they didn’t give a fuck about me, and it was all a bunch of lies.

Damn, what was my point? Do you see what I have to live with? Oh well… I think I meant to say I liked your comment.

Chuck Palahniuk said it best, "The one you love and the one who loves you are never the same person."
Interesting that many other languages have a different word for the different kinds of love, but English lumps it all under one inadequate monosyllable. (reply to this comment
