Getting On : Literature Reviews
shantram | from tdemp - Wednesday, December 07, 2005 accessed 1422 times book title - SHANTRAM -good read I just finished this good book and this quote struck me. For this is what we do. Put one foot forward and than the other. lift our eyes to the snarl and smile of the world once more. Think. Act. Feel. Add our little consequences to the tides of good and evil that flood and drain the world. Drag our shadowed crosses into the promise of a new day. With love: the passionate search for a truth other than our own. With longing: the pure, Ineffiable yearning to be saved. for so long as fate keeps waiting, we live on. God help us. God forgive us. we live on. ( shantram ) makes you think |

Well, this quote struck me: ''My body was her chariot, and she drove it into the sun. Her body was my river, and I became the sea.'' Giggle. And another one about tongues writhing in caves of pleasure, which I'm not going to search out. I won't pretend that I hated the book, as on the whole it's a fantastic story with a brilliant background, but, uh....the dude should have let someone else write the book. (reply to this comment)
