from EyesWideShut Saturday, April 02, 2005 - 20:20 (Agree/Disagree?) I know that this is what was believed for many years; dark glasses, low lighting, painful eyes, insufficient tears. Then right around the time I left, supposedly she was "healed" in some big deal thing that wend on. It was big news, as I recal. Iwonder how "blind" she ever really was, and I wonder too, if now she is permenantly better, or what the deal really was. (reply to this comment)

Currently, she can open her eyes in the daytime (or in brightly lit areas) but she has trouble looking at computer screens. Chances are, whatever it is she has will come back as it doesn't seem to be curable.(reply to this comment)

It's caused by the bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis, incidentally the same bacteria that causes the STD Chlamydia. From Shaka Saturday, April 02, 2005, 19:57 (Agree/Disagree?) Yeah, I don't remeber the name of it but apparently her tear ducts don't work well so her eyes don't get enough moisture, causing them to be dry and painful. There is at least a little justice in this world.(reply to this comment)
