Top 100 Chart | from Anthony - Tuesday, July 30, 2002 accessed 1683 times Good news for American musicians... This April marked the first time in 63 years that the British did not have one single on the top 100 US chart. It’s about time we took our charts back. Good job American musicians, keep it up. Regards, Anthony |

The joke of the day is that I have no idea who made the top 100, and more importantly, I don't care. BTW, this article was meant to get a reaction from the Brits who still consider us their colonies, how did the Canadians get involved? German Post-Industrial/Industrial Techno rules! Check out X Marks The Pedwalk, form the Zoth Ommong label, awesome music. Some of their highlights from '97-'99, in my opinion, are the following: Maximum Pace, W.I.T.I.A.K., Turn of the Tide (Ebb Tide Mix), Drawback, Paranoid Illusions (Face Edit) , I Promise You A Murder, Facer, Facer X-Tremix, Ten Miles, Arbitrary Execution, Abbatoir (Razormaid Mix), Never Look Back, Monomaniac, Swastika, Sweep Hands (Timeless), Criminal Disharmony and Wipe No Tears. | From Anthony Friday, September 27, 2002, 15:57 (Agree/Disagree?) Decoded Feedback Download Front Line Assembly Skinny Puppy Slick Idiot These are a few examples of great Canadian bands. You can hear a some of them on the great Canadian Internet station: Rant Radio. www.rantradio.com Check out some of the cool rant sound bites from popular films such as Apocalypse Now and Falling Down. I must be in a good mood today, which may explain my kissing up to the Canadians. Actually, I'm in a rather foul mood, insomnia again last night. Of course the bands mentioned above will never come close to Master P's Ghetto D., but then again, he's in an altogether different league. Anthony (reply to this comment) |
| | | | | | From Joe Thursday, August 01, 2002, 17:50 (Agree/Disagree?) apparently I pissed off the canucks by insulting their musicians. Patriotism is such a crutch man! I mean if you insulted Americans to my face I would just laugh right along with you. People in other countries really appreciate a sense of humor about your country, any of you who plan to do some travelling should keep that in mind. (reply to this comment) |
| | from Jules Wednesday, July 31, 2002 - 13:30 (Agree/Disagree?) Filthy Canadians? You're just so mean! There are some absolutely fantastic musicians like Brian Adams, Sarah McLachlan, Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Anne Murray, Tom Cochrane, Amanda Marshall. May I also remind you of the brilliant Tom Green, Jim Carrey, William Shatner, Pamela Anderson, Dan Ackroyd, Brendan Fraser, Rick Moranis, Mike Myers, Paul Shaffer, Jennifer Tilly, Paul Reichman, Linda Evangelista? Then there are fascinating people like Margaret Atwood, Michael Ondaatje, Alex Trebek, Peter Jennings. Yep, we sure are a talented, smart, interesting bunch. It's so sad that no one takes us seriously. (reply to this comment)
| From PostsUnderMultipleNames Friday, August 02, 2002, 01:16 (Agree/Disagree?) Jules, how could you have forgotten Kittie??? The best chick group ever, Canadian of course. Now if any bozo out there starts trashing their stuff, remember that they were 16,17 and 19 when "Spit" was recorded. Jack Off Jill, Scarling and Babes in Toyland are some good punk-chik groups, but I still like Kittie's stuff best. Oh, and another Canadian you forgot was John Candy, but he's dead now so who gives a shit. - NR, OG, LK, etc(reply to this comment) |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | From a lover of all things satirical Wednesday, July 31, 2002, 14:34 (Agree/Disagree?) If quiz shows were religion...Jeopardy would be Christianity...Alex Trebek would be Jesus...And I would be a follower. There is a lot to be said for a country that has few natural enemies and exports funny men, beautiful women, and a good singer or two to the US every now and then. We (americans) are very lucky to have Canadians on our northern border....it does get worse you know. Besides Jules.....You alone may be enough to give Canada a good name. regards: A satirically progressive american.(reply to this comment) |
| | | | | | From Jules Wednesday, July 31, 2002, 15:41 (Agree/Disagree?) Now now Joe, you started this with the "filthy Canadians". Deep breath there, my friend. Don't make me open a can of Canadian whoop-ass on you. I was asking if you had read Michael Ondaatje because he is one of the most BORING authors ever. It's so rough being a Canadian sometime, even when you mock yourself, someone somewhere takes offense. (reply to this comment) |
| | | | | | | | | | From Joe Wednesday, July 31, 2002, 13:55 (Agree/Disagree?) I knew about some of these guys' canadianness but am surprised by some. I do think it's a stretch to call shania or celine "fantastic musicians" or tom green and pamela anderson "brilliant" Mike myers and norm macdonald are some of my favorite canadians. I like a lot of brian adams' music, and Sarah MacLachlan is great. I guess I should have pointed out that I think there are a lot of filthy americans on the charts too. Oh, and we all know peter jennings is a canadian spy, trying to bring down america with his propaganda!(reply to this comment) |
| | from Joe Wednesday, July 31, 2002 - 11:22 (Agree/Disagree?) how many of them were canadians? I don't bother with those charts, but I can tell you offhand that Alanis Morrisette, Bare Naked Ladies, Matchbox 20, and probably Avril Lavigne are filthy canadians!! And let's not even begin to count how many latin americans are on that chart! (reply to this comment)
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | From dave Wednesday, July 31, 2002, 12:41 (Agree/Disagree?) Hey CM, don't bash Our Lady Piece too much. They, along with Finger Eleven are two of my favorite alt rock bands, even if they are Canadian. Although, I couldn't care less abut OLP latest "Gravity". Sound like they're deperately trying be accepted by the mainstream. "Happiness..." and "Clumsy" are great.. better than all that Staind suff out there and Nirvana wannabes. Later.
