Buy Pepsi In The New Can | from Anthony - Monday, January 31, 2005 accessed 3007 times A silly email I found in my junk folder from our “cousins” at FamilyYouth@yahoogroups.com: Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building, and the Pledge of Allegiance on them. However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge, "Under God." Pepsi said they didn't want to offend anyone. In that case, we don't want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office, either. So if we don't buy any Pepsi products, they will not be offended when they don't receive our money that has the words "In God We Trust" on it. ------------------------------------------------- Besides which Pepsi Directors, who's gonna be offended by the mention of the word "God"? Are YOU ofended by the word God? Are YOU? If so, can I apply to the courts to sue Pepsi, because I'm offended by the word "Pepsi"? Don't know why anyone bothers to drink that rubbish anyway, it tastes awful. Just my opinion, hope you're not offended - ha! Yahoo! Got that sent to me in '03 by some church going redneck in Colorado who was outraged and trying to get her friends to boycott Pepsi. I sent her a pic of me drinking a six pack of Pepsi. Haven't heard from her since. (reply to this comment)
| from Joe H Monday, January 31, 2005 - 12:55 (Agree/Disagree?) This one is REALLY old, Anthony, and it was barely relevant at the time: http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/undergod.asp I applaud Pepsi for using some choice words from the ORIGINAL Pledge of Allegiance to express their patriotism. Yes, my cynical side realizes that patriotism makes a good marketing ploy, but at least they had the balls to piss of the religious right, who don't seem to realize that freedom of religion means not everybody has to believe in, or even respect your idea of "God". | from Haunted Monday, January 31, 2005 - 12:54 (Agree/Disagree?) Well, I'm offended when people insinuate that I trust in god! But you know, I've learned to suck it up and am actually very encouraged and helped by the power of the illuminati and the "eye on the triangle" on the same piece of green paper. Oh well, if I drank Pepsi I suppose it would actually make a difference... (reply to this comment)
