Getting Out : Inside Out

A letter from a "friend"!

from Gypsy - Friday, December 09, 2005

i cant believe im actually writing back to u on this, but well... here r my thoughts on that one:

First: yes, ive heard that shit about "how can u be mad at someone who u dont think exists?". Easy see, pple like us, (unfortunately) have been brought up being told a story, no... more like a lie. and yes, this may sound "blasphemous" to you, but honey, ITS THE TRUTH!!! as hard as that is to take, sorry babe, the truth hurts sometimes.
what i mean is, why do u think most pple that study, go to college, university, whatever dont believe in god??? simple... we have read facts, not fiction. not SOMEONES religious beliefs on some dude that, half of what is said about him was either exaggerated or out rightly made up to fit the story they wanted it to fit and have the effect on pple it had; sad to say tho, some pple still seem to fall into that same ol' trap inspite of the... what is it, 2000 year old lie that it is!!!
and then we here... little ol pple, realize the truth, realize how wrong we were, try to make things right again... but, what do we have, we find out that weve been believing that lie for almost ALL OUR LIVES!!! now let me tell u, something uve believed in (or thought u believed in) for 20 YEARS doesnt go away all that easy!!! unfortunately, we have to constantly remind ourselves that it isnt true, that it doesnt exist, it was all a made up lie.
Second: NO, I DONT BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU CALL "GOD", and no, i believe i have already passed that stage of naiveness where i just gobble down what some person I DONT EVEN KNOW tells me and then do whatever they say inspite of how crazy, outrageous or simply put, STUPID it is... oh, and then whats worse, force u to think like them. i mean, since when has "freedom of thought" been abolished? dont we all have the right to think what we want? well, when i was in there, (TF) i sure wasnt able to think what i wanted. i mean hell, poor me if ever i mentioned something that was "out of the spirit", i was accused of "being out of it", of thinking "Satans thoughts" or what seemed to me was the funniest one, "being a bad influence!", and then put on 6 months of miserable punishment for being different from the rest of u guys... oh and, dont tell me they dont put you on "partial" or whatever u call it now, just for your thoughts, THEY DID TO ME- and you know that, you were there. man, i actually wished i had broken a rule so i could get at least some form of fair punishment.

oh, and about what u think weve been through- ... its all in your head honey!!! its amazing to know how many things we can imagine if we let our minds go, and then whats worse, they actually become real to us and then we dont even know the difference of what was real and what wasnt!!! actually i think theres a name for that kinda sickness... i cant remember now. but anyway, theres a lot of movies about that!

well, ive stopped believing in fairy tales... i still sortta wonder tho, what took me so long to realize it!

and this was her response:
I love u no matter what....and yes this is my choise and my life...I'll pray that u are happy no matter what.. see ya xx

...why cant they ever answer back a valid answer, its like there always just trying to avoid reality, i mean, were all open for an honest debate, arent we?

anyway... just thought id like to hear your thoughts and opinions, feel free to write back.

perhaps they dont give you a real answer because they dont have one... your right they dont want to realize that what your saying is true...

Dear Jeremiah, I just wanted you to know how insiteful your article on Ricky was. I've learned much these 30 years waiting for our children to have the scales of deception removed from their spiritual eyes. As a Mother of 2 children, their spouses, 9 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren who have grown-up in COG, I want to share any help I might be able to give to those who are still struggling with, who they are & where they belong in the world around them. I have reached out in love to those God has put in my life, but I hope by signing up with Moving On, I might expand my opportunies.
We are saddened that our friendship with Rick DuPrew was unable to encourage him in his search for TRUTH, & he ended taking his life. He was a very brillant young man & wanted so much to serve God with his whole heart. We've heard of a number of former COG members who could not handle the confusion left in their minds & felt death was the only way out. David Berg has a lot to account for before the TRUE GOD.

yeah, i suppose i did get kinda "excited" about the topic. maybe next time ill try to cool down a bit before writing.

its not all that easy coming from a country where most pple, not to say everyone is an atheist, to a country where it seems the whole world believes in one thing and u believe the opposite... at least everyone ive met.

well, it doesnt matter. the truth is, i dont believe shes making "sense" out of her life. but, like she said, i hope shes happy doing whatever shes doing.

ps. what does good looks have anything to do with this? AH! and yes, coming out of a deprived life, i think i am in a huge mess... so?

I agree with your overall premise 100%. However, your thesis statement needs revision, and your delivery is random at best. Your debate reads like a "rant" which makes your opponent's collected response seem focused, though still lacking in any response to the subject matter. Please make corrections and resubmit.

Just kidding. It's hard not to get excited over the subject. I became an athiest, not out of deliberation, but out of logic. After finding no answers, and nothing but contradiction and falsehoods in religeon, I gave it up. Since then things make sense, I feel free, I feel happy, and out of "bondage". So I say amen to you friend. ;{D

The sad thing is that the response she sent you made more sense that your lengthy rant. I hope your good looking, it seems you need all the help you can get.
