The following is an enquiry from Asahi Geino magazine:

They are interested in conducting interviews with ex-members *ASAP*.

If you want the person's name / email / phone number, post a reply here and I will email it to you.

----------

Dear sirs
Hellow, my name is [withheld]. Excuse my suddenly e-mail asking, and my
poor English. I don't know the collect adress that infrom my asking so I
send you this.
I am journalist belongling to Weekly magazine ASAHIGEINO, published by
Tokuma Co,Ltd.
Now I report "Family", becouse Ricky shooted himself in the side of the head
with him pistol after kniffed Anjera. We know the affair by Newsweek Japan,
and we started to report "Family". I am writing this e-mail on the way to
Tateyama that we have the "Family"'s plant.
You know, many magazine had reported the "Family" durling 80's to 90's in
Japan. After the die of Burg, we think they changed their activities that
were doctrine of freesex, abuse for "Family" children, and so so. But the
Newsweek reported the activities doing now.
I am shock the report, but I have to reserch the real not only as a
journalist but also as a human. I never permit such atrocious activites
especially children. If my report help the second generation as Ricky, I am glad.
So I write under below my asking.
1. Can you infrome me the actual conditions of the Family?
2.Is it real that the Family treating their children yet? If it was real,
let me shown the activites concretely.
3.How many believers now in the Family?
4.Can you sent me the photos about Family, for exsample the "David Book",
the "Letter from Burg", the meeting, ceremony in the closen room, and so so?
5.Can you introduse me ex-Family who is able to answer my e-mail interview?

I know you are very busy, but our dead line will be closed at Fryday(Japan
Time). If your anser will be "Yes", I ask my boss the dead line will have
been closed at Saturday noon. So I need your answer as soon as possible.
So we have not so many time, but I think this is a chanse to report about
the "Family". Becouse in Japan, we have news that the cult priests treated
12 years old girl badly on Wendsday(yeserday). So people interests in the
cult. I wanna say again, I never permit such atrocious activites especially
children!
Best regards and want your good anser

PS, I think the better contact way by e-mail. Becouse almost our staff
cannot speak and understand English.

Follow up responce:

------

Hello and How are you? Thanks for your kindness and quickly response.
I will contact with Mr.John and Mr.Sunny. Yesterday I visit the Family plant
placed at Tateyama. I called the door and a woman had faced, I think she
will be Yumiko Taniguchi.
By my reserch, some Family's constructhion are illegal, because I have
already gotten their patent rolls and find the lands of such constructhions
were written on the rolls as moor or mountain. In Japan, such entries were
illegal.
And I have information that the police have many interests in them, and
started to reserch them.

I think almost all my requestment will be sucsess for interviwing them.(reply to this comment

I don't think it's a spoof, the grammatical errors completely coincide with someone who is Japanese and speaks a smattering of English, probably writing with a dictionary.(reply to this comment

About this magazine: it runs along the lower level of the magazines, dealing more in smut and 'the lower half of the body' as my husband put it. They are not on the same level even as the Bunshun, and definitely not the level of newspapers. They are looking to make money off the recent situation with the Korean minister who was arrested yesterday for molesting a 12-year old and the Family's past history regarding sex.

My very own personal opinion would be to sell them your interview, not to give it for free. And be aware of the type of magazine this is.(reply to this comment

This is true, and certainly something to keep in mind. They are probably even lower level than Friday magazine. However, it is important to understand that when a couple Japanese media outlets cover a story, many more will follow.

A significant, recent, local story over there is the death of Abe, who was the son of the top leader of TF in Japan.(reply to this comment

Great idea to provide information and show resources to journalists. Very bad idea to send them photos and original copies of scarce literature like the Davidito Book. You may never see them again.

Faxing a scanned copy is enough. Great to get the publicity . Just remember TF want their lit back so theres no proof.(reply to this comment

3 page article, with photos and stories, but no names.

Photo: Still from the Ricky video(Holding gun to head & smiling)
Photo: Angela Smith (photo often seen on web)
Photo: COG bus, and culties (Monotone, not most famous pic)
Pic: Cover of the "Devil Hates Sex" letter.
Photo: David B. Berg & Ricky (Ricky preteen? Taken Japan?)
Photo: Pyramid at Tateyama (Sent chills down my spine)
Photo: No face pic of interviewed ex-cultie.

Stories included.

Very brief explanation of the Ricky case, and TF.

Story of "A" says she was raped at 11, by a 40 yr old male. No names or cult names.

Story of "B" says there are full Japanese who do not speak Japanese.

Brief mention of beatings.

Closes with very brief mention of Abu.

The Japan Times and Friday magazine (Japanese) are also working on articles about TF. The editors at xFamily.org are currently in contact with them. The Japan Times reporter is also working with the people responsible for the Newsweek Japan article.

If there is information or photos you'd like to pass on, please email editors@xfamily.org

The impression I get is that the stories are very incomplete. Is there anybody that can write a full article that could be submitted to a Magazine in it's entire form?(reply to this comment

The Japan Times article is still in the research phase.

I've been told the Friday magazine article, however, will go to press this weekend. Friday is an often sensationalistic, photo-journalism magazine. (We've told them we're not interested in collaborating on non-objective articles...) One thing they are very interested in is "scandalous" photos related to TF. If anyone has such photos they would like to get out there, they would need them *ASAP*.(reply to this comment
