TIMELY URGENT REQUEST!! EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!! NEED FOR A PAST GRAPEVINE/GN

This is an urgent request for a copy of a Grapevine and or GN issued in or around 1998 concerning a request from WS to pray against a court case in San Diego, California. This case involved a young woman "Miriam" and her accusations of sexual abuse against Philip Slown (aka Jay).

If anyone has access to this publication please either post it here or e-mail it to my brother Jim La Mattery at jimlamattery@hotmail.com

Thanks, John (Sr)

(Grapevine Issue #99; November 1, 2000.)

(From NACRO:) Please unite with us in prayer for a court case that is coming up in San Diego, involving a 16-year-old who is bringing false accusations against her flesh and adoptive parents. This case is rather weighty, and if not resolved, could cause not only the individuals involved, but also the overall Family, problems in the future. The first civil hearing will determine if the teen should be returned to her parents or become a ward of the State. If the 16-year-old becomes a ward of the State, then the District Attorney will move on to making it a criminal case.

We're praying that the Lord will work in the situation to head off th e upcoming hearing, and we would appreciate your prayers that the Lord will work in the heart of the judge to rule in our favor, that the evidence from impartial academics and experts will be admitted in court, and that the Lord will confound and expose our enemies who are involved in the case. Thank you so much for your prayers for this case and the brethren involved!

So, I guess their "concrete system" for dealing with allegations of abuse is to call the victim a liar and pray against them. Makes the Catholic Church seem pretty damn progressive by comparison. (reply to this comment

Would whoever has an original copy of this GN please contact me? What is emerging,I believe, is the intent to obstruct justice on the part of Maria and Peter when the intial case was filed in 1998. I need to verify that this was in reaction to the court case here in San Diego where Miriam Marchbank was made a dependent of the State. If there was an additional case here in SD, I need to know that asap. Thanks- (reply to this comment

I burned all that stuff when I left ... it was one of the better moments of my life. I have Infostore 2, though, which has everything up to 2001 I think .... I can mail you a copy if you like. I don't have the CD key, though.(reply to this comment

If that was a notice posted in a Grapefine it is probably included in the ARC and should be easily obtained as it is not a CM only publication.(reply to this comment

This just shows what they think of people who try and seek justice in a court of law, the accused in question hasn't been up in court yet, yet they can say as fact that the girl is lying/being a false accuser, without hearing any evidence or having gone through due process.
Zerby and Peter, you are not the judge, so untill the judge calls a rulling, keep it zipped. (reply to this comment

This isn't really any good unless you show the original grapevine document.

On another note: "That the evidence from impartial academics and experts will be admitted in court".

What is that suppose to mean? (reply to this comment

Seems quite clear to me, for 'impartial academics and experts' read anyone from their list of people they've managed to con with a visit to a PR home, and they're hoping that their conjecture about a group they've never been a member of and have never been allowed to see into will prove more weighty in court than evidence from people who have actually lived through it.

We just gotta hope for a good judge.(reply to this comment

Yes, this is a great help. Are there any other articles on this case that you might have access to? This is a great start. Thanks very much --John(reply to this comment
