Jesus Gets It Wrong: GV 147

from Jules - Thursday, January 23, 2003
accessed 2050 times

One of the most frustrating things I remember about growing up in the Family is that as the children of members, we were always second-class citizens.

Although we were certainly expected to “take it on the chin” as any other “disciple” was, we were never trusted or respected on the same level as the adults who chose to join. To this day, some older members and exmembers still refer to us as “teens”. I have not been a teenager for 10 years now. Everything we tried to do on our own was second-guessed, and there was always concern that we weren’t spiritual, dedicated or competent enough to actually pull it off without supervision.

One of the silliest things that my own parents asked me when I first launched this site was “who is making you do this?” Even after everything I had been through ON MY OWN, they couldn’t understand that perhaps I was intelligent enough to think things through for myself and reach my own conclusions and make up my own mind about things.

I was recently sent this comment about us from Karen Zerby (Maria). It’s amazing that despite having left the Family, managing despite the difficulties to educate ourselves, get on our feet, and to reach a level of success and stability that they never will, Family members still cannot believe that young people could accomplish anything at all on their own.

I’m not sure what the good lord was smoking when he sent this little nugget to his faithful queen, but it’s totally nonsense. As shocking as it seems, it is possible for young people to think for themselves and take action on their own without some mystery man (of course from their generation) really controlling things.

Some things truly never change.

Insight from the Lord about our enemies
By Mama

Dear Family,
I want to share with you a message we recently received from the Lord, which outlines a specific prayer request concerning the workings of those who are fighting against the Family. The Lord highlights one man in particular, within the anti-cult community, who has been fighting the Family for many years. The Lord explains that he is playing an integral role in our detractors and apostates' current threats and attacks on the Family.
Please add this to your daily prayer list. Call on the power of the keys for the Lord to bring this man's plans to naught, and to break the hold that the Enemy has on him. The keys can work miracles, so let's claim them!
Love,
Mama

(Jesus speaking:) Have no fear, My loves, for these rumblings from the camp of your enemies. I am faithful to reveal to My servants what is needed to prepare them for what is to come.
I seek to highlight one who opposes you and is marshalling his forces. There is one who seeks your demise, who is given over to the Devil and yields to his influence. This one has fought you from the very beginning when he rejected the truth of My Word. He seeks those who have left you. He does not seek truth, he seeks sensationalism, the "tabloid" effect. He knows this tactic appeals to the masses who are ignorant and are easily swayed by the media. He seeks recognition.
Your enemies are actively moving, pursuing, and continuing on in their campaign to sow division, bring about doubt, cause disunity, and gather more into their fold. The Enemy wants to divide and conquer. Division, through any means it can be brought about, is what your adversary and his cohorts attempt to bring about. The advantage you have is to pray against any unity amongst your enemies. Their own division can be their dismantling. (End of message from Jesus.)

In another message, the Lord also said:

(Jesus speaking:) You must pour forth your prayers in the power of the keys turned to swords to overcome those who are leading and orchestrating this attack. While [a number of ex-Family young people] are key players, it is [this man] who is the power behind them because of the way the Enemy can work through him. He is prodding them on, and the spirits of Pan, Oplexicon, and the Vandari are affecting and infecting others through him, for he serves as a channel, a carrier for these evil spirits. These powerful demons have an open channel in this one. Therefore, due to [this man's] willful yielding to the Enemy and allowing himself to be the Devil's puppet, you must aim your prayers with accuracy and power to bind the Enemy's actions through this man. (End of message from Jesus.)

Here are some specific prayer requests to be added to your daily prayer vigil times:
* Against the Vandari and their evil working through anyone who would try to hurt us.
* Against the Enemy's attacks through our enemies, specifically against this individual.
* Against the efforts of those ex-members who want to fight the Family, especially against their concerted attacks to pull others out of the Family.
* For the Family's obedience to "Pray, Obey, and Prepare" so that the persecution can be minimal or fizzle out altogether.
* Against requests for law enforcement investigations or legal action, use of media, books, documentaries, etc., against the Family.

I agree 100% there,
we could never be good enough for them, no matter how good we were! I raised money for their homes year after year, and provisioned funiture- well, everything! I was many homes greatest asset, but in spite of all that i was nothing. They never appreciated anything(the hand that fed them)At the end of the day i was just a tool, because in reality they claim to judge by spiritual attainment, not by actions and success. That very gauge sets them on a higher levil for good, They are the cadre-Gods highest chosen people that were called out of the whore, and we just so happen to be lucky enough(in they're eyes)to be born into the most incredible, revolutionary, mind-blowing army in the universe. Don't even get me started on the "end of the teens" crap, wich is yet another contradiction...(1 I despise terribly. bieng the reason we 'needed' so much 'training' in form of beatings and correction) them leading the force from behind the scenes and us on the front-lines with the 'weapons??' Their cup runneth over the limits!!$#%

Naw, I'm sure he'd speak Latin, it's not for nothing that was the chuches' language for so long. I'm sure god told them to use Latin because it was his mother tougne & he expressed himself best that way. :)

But I do agree, if that was god he wouldn't be using that layman's magazine American, but rather a rich, intellectual, Queens English. You sure can tell the people that make those GNs read nothing but their own cult literature: the writing and structure are stagnant and repetitive, the TF vocabulary hasn’t changed in 30 years. Except some cult terminology.

What I hear Zerby saying is, "Better the evil you know than the evil you do not know." Putting it another way: Cling to 'us' and the family of demons you know, and be afraid of 'them,' the demons you do not know but are so much more dangerous than 'us'.

Fear rules: fear of responsibility, fear of life on life's terms, fear of death, fear of 'them,' which is everyone who is not 'us'.

As long as one fears the imagined pain of change over the known pain of staying the same, there will be no growth. What a sad, counter-dependent existence. There can be no 'us' without 'them'...

It doesn't suprise me that Zerby is so obsessed with the power of demons. She is a vampire sucking the life from vulnerable souls trapped in the shadowland of fear and ignorance.

Fear does rule, everywhere dosent it?A disturbing parallel in todays world, fear of getting fired, fear of terrorism, fear of disease,Fear Factor, etc etc.The term you used to describe Maria (vampire sucking the life.......)sounds unecessarily vehement,a typical show of 'self-victimazation',often found amongst those who have a hard time letting go,of their own fears, and their own insecurity.Perhaps the effects of pop subculture,or maybe the desire to embark in a great crusade against the tyrants that kept us in the dark, and ruined our lives, condemning us to live our lives as misunderstood mongrels forever incapable of fitting in this glorious civilization, perhaps all this and more frustrations make us verbalize those regrettable comments.I humbly suggest You turn Your attention to more constructive causes, such as the ozone layer, the war in Pago Pago,Bush's dementia, the fall of classic Television to the likes of shows like The Bachelor, frankly U would have more success there.(reply to this comment

To all of us who have left,
The Family as a microcosm of religious belief represents a safety net for the weak of mind and feeble of spirit. Zerby's comments with regard to our "leader" (whom we are unaware of ever having had) exemplify one of the fatal incongruities that face CM's. How can we as SGA's fail as a community to have a specific "leader"? This of course sheds light on the fact that they (CM's) may not in fact be free moral agents in their own right. To settle this problem, they must therefore assume that the rest of the world functions in relation to the dynamic they are familiar with inside the group. Having failed as individuals to be able to make their own choices in regard to morality and spirituality, they loath and fear us, who where once among them. The simple fact that we are, is enough to send them crawling to the feet of Zerby & Co., in the hope that they might find redemption through the power of the keys, and absolution from the legal ramifications of their own moral turpitude.
Sad as it may be, as SGA’s (many of us who are now in our mid-twenties, and early thirties) we will never be given credit for having surpassed them. We have succeeded in overcoming the obstacles they placed in front of us, such as; a lack of education, mental and physical abuse, and social isolation. Furthermore, we are succeeding in a world they failed to achieve success in---the real world! All that is left for them to do is grovel. And, to pray that Jesus comes back soon and validates their belief system, before they have to admit what a dismal failure their great social experiment really was.

Dear Mama Maria,

My name is Hydra. I'm a sold out, died blood red Vandari. I haven't even morphed into human form for the past 4 months because I so enjoy my blood-soaked robes.

But now it's all been ruined. I just discovered that I have been following a leader. It tears me up that I don't know who that leader is. Has he been influencing me through subtle brain wave power? Perhaps he brainwashed me when he made eye contact with me from across the street?

I want to know who my new master is. Since Jesus knows and has told you, but He doesn't seem to be on speaking terms with me, would you mind letting me know who my leader is? It would make being a Vandari so much more enjoyable -- like it used to be.

Thank you.

PS: To any Family members who have given into the influence and are reading this, if you actually swallow Zerby's line of crap about this, you deserve to be in the Family. Please stay there. I will sleep better tonight knowing that you are safely tucked away in the loonie bin. If we, the true-"red" Vandari don't even know who the f**k this leader is, then how the hell could we be influenced by him? It should seriously make you think twice about who's talking in those prophecies.

This is truly bizarre. I can only assume that they mean Samuel Ajemian, and I don't know why they seem to think we listen to him. (No offence Sam) Also didn't Berg teach that you have to actually say the name of the person or spirit you're praying against?

On the plus side tho, I did meet Samuel at least briefly, so if he's the carrier of the Vandari gift, then I guess that makes me "First Generation" Unlike you other peon Vandari who had to get the mantle second hand. (LOL)

I would take exception to that GV article. Why can't the 'children' of the group think on their own? Some of us are over 30, for goodness' sakes! They make enemies out of us just by their ignorance.

Someone should post this on the Family Youth group and start letting people know what a crock of pot this is. If I'm correct in my assumption of who this 'evil detractor puppet' is, I know he doesn't have anything to do with all four of the main exmember community sites, he just pops into a couple of them from time to time, and is mostly running his own show.

Perhaps they're scared and praying (running) cause of the whole Cherub Wings situation and the expose that is going on to connect CW with the Family and therefore get it removed from the public, or at least let the public know that it is originating from a dubious organization.
