I was not a member of The Family, but another community in Northern California in the late 70's and 80's. I did not have a Jesus-driven spiritual upbringing, but I, and many of the kids that I grew up with went through similar experiences. It's a very different upbringing that very few understand....most people are fascinated by it, but there is only a small group in our generation who truly get it.
