I joined COG in Portland, Oregon in 1971. I left in 1974. I continued to have periodic contact over the years and had a positive attitude toward the Family until I began to distrust Peter Amsterdam, and didn't like how I was being treated after sending donations to the family. It seemed like they were glad to get donations, but they didn't really want anything to do with me.[br] I could sense that they were treating me like an enemy even though I was their friend. I decided that Peter was on a big ego trip and his whole theology can be wrapped up in this quote from Peter: "Teach them to give to you".
