I left the family over 20 years ago when I found out that my middle child had been abused by my (then)husband. I left from India with my 5 children. My ex and his wife tried to take a couple of my children but I refused to leave any behind. It was the best thing I ever did although for a couple of years my eldest son hated me for taking him out...he now thanks me. As all the children do. There is a lot more to this story but suffice it to say I am free from the oppressive fam. spirit and am loving it. I had joined the cog in 1971 with the Jesus people from Vancouver. From there went to Texas, then up to Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa. Hamilton Etc. Then over seas to France and Germany. Back to Canada BC area the over seas to Bangkok and over to India for 2 years. I have read both your articles and the exfamily stuff and I must say that I didn't even know you all existed until my sister (who had also been in the fam. and left several years ago with her 6 children) told me about
