I joined the family when I had just turned 19 years old and left again - somewhat exhausted and burned out disillusioned - at the age of 37 in 1990. Starting a new life outside the family was definately not easy, and at times I was about to give it all up. Just reconnecting with myself and the people around me was a major challenge after having been submitted to such controlling environment within the family. I still feel the psycological after effects, even this many years after leaving the family. It is nice though to discover new aspect of existance each passing day! Now my only belief system is Love. Unconditional voluntary love and respect for each individual living being. I have summed up my belief system into a simple doctrine: "to do unto others as I would like for others to do to me" this i my marker. I try not to look back to the past in remorse and I try not to look forward to the future with worry, fear or anxiety. I just try to make a concious effort to be present in the here and now. My sympathy reaches out to all the young ones who, during the innocence of childhood have suffered such horrible abuses at the hands of those who should have nurtured and protected you. It break my heart to realise that the family was totally in almost every possition of leadership at that time totally in the hands of a powerful group of control addicts that had gained power to exercise their own horrible perversions and lusts over these innocent children as well as their opressive power over the women as well as the more moderate and gentler so called "weaker brethren" who had not the strength to put a stop to these abuses for fear of their own necks. I do believe that these control addicts that committed these crimes would serve the cause of love by comming forward to stand trial and take responsibillity for their crimes. Such crimes the world knows not. Even so I believe all will be revealed in due time and those who engaged in such abuses will be held accountable for their actions.
