I tried to use the phone to call the police but she was too fast for me and beat me unconscious. I woke up crying and with a large lump on my head. I told people I fell down while skateboarding. When I was ten I was anally violated in a public restroom in a park by a stranger. He slapped my face and called me a "tard". I later learned that he was from my church and that's how he knew I was going to be there. After that I started eating to try to mask the emotional pain. Hamburgers, hot dogs, lard -- you name it. People began to make fun of me for my wait and calling me Opie because I had a scar on my shoulder that looked like the kid from the Andy Griffith show. When I was twelve I beat up a girl for pulling my pants down in the cafeteria. Later when I went to church they took me into a back room and fondled me telling me that what everyone saw was too small to see anyway. Thus began my life of crime, twinkies, and debauchery. It may provide you with a way to avoid facing painful emotions associated with your own abuse and/or acknowledging other people's pain about their abuse. Ego defense mechanisms are only human. We all use these kinds of thinking errors to cope with the unacceptible reality that adults brutalize children. (reply to this comment) |
| | From Kelly Friday, March 11, 2005, 16:40 (Agree/Disagree?) Chad, Sorry to hear of your "life of crime, twinkies and debauchery" but, I think the author of the artical you commented to was refering to inapropreate incidents that occured in the " C.O.G--the Family" which is clearly not the case with you. Posting your comments is OK as long as you know that --Perhap stating up front that you did not grow up in the cult whould be appropreate--or not --do what you want, just know what you're doing is my point--Maybe you know but you just don't care--Or maybe you want to get some stuff out in the open--Is this the place?--Who knows? We weren't allowed to eat twinkies, skateboard, and weren't in school so we never would've been in a cafeteria. And never mind the church part. This is a space for second generation members of a particular cult to share their stories so we can refute their denials and lies. I'm just not sure you know exactly which website you're on.
