Of-course, I don't know much about American schools, but the ones over here are pretty good; at least the ones I've seen! Private schools here though cost an arm-&-a-leg, even since they've abolished corpral punishment! (reply to this comment) | From N Saturday, September 14, 2002, 14:09 (Agree/Disagree?) Wow, I never thought I'd find myself agreeing with you. But, yes, English schools are top quality, at least the few I've seen. I think they're incredibly progressive, as well, to have abolished corporal punishment, especially. There are a few wonderful things I admire about England, soft rain, green hills, progressive schools, breath-taking beauty, no death penalty, no police brutality, no guns in homes, the list goes on. And I agree that single sex institutions are very beneficial. There's an Abbey in Ireland, Kylemore, I believe. It's a girls school in the middle of the most beautiful countryside of Connemara. If I have a daughter, I'll sell a kidney if I have to to send her there. It looks like attending school in paradise, no guns, no violence, no drugs, no crime, no boys to make her feel self-conscious or worse and it's in the middle of no where, so she'll be out of harms way. Also, I hear a lot of excellent schools provided tuition assistance, even in primary school. However, not many needy families are even aware. (reply to this comment) |
