There is nothing English or witty about implying (inadvertently or intentionally) that you plan to fly south for the winter. Further, I find it utterly ludicrous that you, Dani, consider yourself to be in a postion to utter so much as a peep on the topics of wit or grammar. Every thing you post on here is so poorly written as to be unintelligible, and what can be deciphered is always completely stupid and irrelevant anyway. I guess your sister got all the intelligence genes in the family - I hope for your sake that you're the cute one. (reply to this comment) |
| | From Jules Tuesday, April 06, 2004, 13:07 (Agree/Disagree?) What a nasty, stupid and cruel thing to say, especially considering the fact that I have privately explained the back story to you already. Intelligence has nothing to do with sentence structure or spelling. Albert Einstein was dsylexic. For those who don't know what dyslexia is, it is a condition that one in ten children have and it is genetic. This runs on both sides of my family and all of my siblings, including myself have it. The brain of a dyslexic person doesn't think in language or sentences, but in three dimensional images. I've found it to be incredibly useful in my work and I can think out full projections in ways that other people cannot. The major problem occurs when children are not given early education and as a result have difficulty with written language later on. I was lucky enough to go to a real school from the age of 4 to 9 where basic grammar and spelling was drilled into me. Although children who are denied this basic education are at a disadvantage, they can overcome it and Dani worked very hard and has made incredible progress. Apart from being my sister, Dani is one of my closest friends. She is one of the most hardworking and insightful people I know. I respect her immensely and greatly value her opinions. Joe, despite the fact that your obsessive tendencies can be quite annoying, I had a lot of respect for you. I'm completely shocked that you would be so very nasty. (reply to this comment) |
| | From Joe H Tuesday, April 06, 2004, 20:19 (Agree/Disagree?) Dani apparently needs to try harder. Maybe I went to far when I implied that she was stupid, but that's the impression that she gives. But I'll make a deal with you guys: when a language is invented that uses three-dimensional pictures instead of words, I'll make a good effort to learn it, and you can tease my syntactic errors to your hearts' content. In the meantime, get fucked! (reply to this comment) |
| | | | From Alf Monday, April 05, 2004, 22:35 (Agree/Disagree?) Is'nt dictionary.com great for straining at exact definitions? mi·grate ( P ) Pronunciation Key (mgrt) intr.v. mi·grat·ed, mi·grat·ing, mi·grates To move from one country or region and settle in another. Usage Note: Migrate, which is used of PEOPLE and animals, sometimes implies a lack of permanent settlement, especially as a result of seasonal or periodic movement. Emigrate and immigrate are used only of people and imply a permanent move, generally across a political boundary. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=migrate I believe my usage was correct and in context Friendly Nazi.
