In TF, to you as a child/adolescent (in your mindset of that time), "love" was:
(Wiki definition) An intense feeling of affection and care towards another person. A feeling you cherished.
The very essence of life, the only thing that mattered, regardless who it came from/was aimed at. "God is Love!"
Liking/feeling comfortable with someone/something. A generally good feeling.
The reason why you were beaten and humiliated, yet still something to strive for/live by (?)
The adults reason/excuse for having sex with whomever they pleased, including you or other kids. Thus something you were ambivalent about, or just couldn't understand.
The Ultimate Manipulative Tool, that you (at least intuitively) identified as such, and that you consequentially feared, faked and/or used yourself.
An all-encompassing "passe-partout" meaning sex, "discipline", affection, betrayal, promiscuity, God, more sex and violence, etc. A generally confusing and hypocritical term.
None of the above even remotely grasp what "love" meant to me whilst I was in TF.
