IN GV 176, Marc and Claire claim with obvious disdain that "we" paint everything with "a broad brush of [our] own color," that of "free-thinking" secular humanism. Do you think they would actually prefer us to have more religion, even if it were not theirs?

They would consider any religion preferable to the horrifying secular humanism. 

They secretely wish we were all blood-drinking Satanists, that would make it even easier to suck up to Chancellor: see, our apostates are devil-worshippers! 

Anything but Jewish or Catholic. 

Muslim would be OK as long as we were on fire and helped with the Whore's demise. 

Anything but Hindu, Buddhist. 

Scientologist would be OK as long as we helped with their legal cases.
