Suggestions for London
I will be in London (the Chelsea area) for 3 days mid-October and I am looking for suggestions from anyone who is familiar with the area. What is worth going to? Are any of the common tourist sites overrated? Any ideas for good places to eat? "Secret" places to get good prices on tickets to museums, etc.?Since I only have a few days, I want to make sure I don't waste it on stupid crap that tourist books say are good.   (reply to this post)

London
Firstly, how much money are you willing to spend? Chelsea is a dear place to crash.

Secondly, if you go out in that area, be mindful of the Squaddies that are bunked there. The Scots Guards are notoriously violent.

If you've got money to spend, get yourself out on the town: Everywhere in London will charge an arm and leg as per drinks, but the nightlife is great, as is the atmosphere.

Finally, The British Gallery is free, but I'm not sure about the Tate. The Tower will cost quite a bit, but most of the main museums will either be free or inexpensive.

Did ya'll ever have your get together in the DR, if so can the people that didn't get to go get some kinda recap on what ya'll did, some pics or something...how many people ended up showing up?
