Maybe we could have a model that says, after the bit about "and all I got was this lousy t-shirt," something like "...and I had to pay for it myself" (or some other dig at how our "parents" do not act like parents in very basic ways and how we are quite on our own).   (reply to this post)

I don't identify myself by something I hate. Rather I am proud of the fact that more than 10 years ago, when confronted with another "breaking" and the (contradictory) order to exercise oversight over the younger people (so-called JETTS) who worked where I did, instead I managed to run away from a cult commune in a 3d world country, when I was a minor, at 4 am, with the clothes on my back. I am one tough cookie. I have since earned a college degree with assorted honors and prizes, and a professional degree. I get to have the hobbies I love and choose my friends, my job, my beliefs, something that I could not take for granted, and that I now appreciate more keenly than some of my friends who grew up so privileged.

Yes, Luc, you're definitely a tough cookie! I wish the COG would've tried the blatant defamation, imputing unchasity to a female, libel per se and the various other civil torts they committed against you now, rather than when you were just a child and unable to legally and financially defend yourself. The COG would have been taken to the cleaners civilly, now that you're established and able to properly defend yourself. One day, though, one sweet day, they'll pay for what they did to you and others like you.

Thank God for people like you! It's because of you, that others, who were younger than you, suffered less. Thank you! Thank you for what you endured, so others had to endure less. You're absolutely one tough cookie!

We could do something like "My parents went and joined a cult and all I got was this shitty t-shirt, and I had to pay for it, because they were lousy parents. Then we could just break off into any random monologue (in the example below I think the author was Sunny James, but it doesn't matter, any long winded rambling will work). So it would be something like this.....

Our grandparent’s generation had up to three more sets of molars than our children will have; I have one more set than my son. Oh, and mouths are getting smaller. Makes you wonder: if everything affects the evolution of everything else, me thinks certain things will have to shrink in order to fit into the ever shrinking mouths.
