Question for anyone who was/is in Thailand
Someone sent me a rumour that Jonas Anderson, a current hit in the Thai music world is a Family SGA, who is still in. I am just curious about this as it's always interesting to see how things work out for other youth born in the Family. Does anyone know for sure if this is true? Here TARGET="_new">http://www.jonasanderson.com/about/index_e.htm">Here is his site

| Anthony, December 11, 2002, 22:59 Mensonge De Loin A current hit in the Thai music world,or fame in Thailand doesn't mean squat in this part of the world! (reply to this post) | | JoeH, December 10, 2002, 19:23 just a thought if they're so famous, shouldn't there be nude photos of them on the Internet somewhere? How about a special prize for whoever can find/forge said photos? He and another SGA girl (Kristy, I believe) have lived in Thailand since they were kids and are fluent in Thai. They've learned to sing in a very special dialect, that apparently is even difficult for Thai nationals to master. Like you said, they're very big. I'm surprised the Family's name is not publicly tacked on to their success, as the "publicity" would be welcome, I'm sure (or maybe they're afraid it'll ruin everything?). In the Family itself, it's public knowledge, with testimonies and interviews filling up countless mailings. They are both very much "in", and all the interviews are centered around "staying yielded", wielding the new weapons", "tapping into the power of the keys", etc. But it is still very admirable, so good for them. But it makes me mad cause the group there are very secretive about who they are, yet tout him to the group as a big success. Success for what?? Success only in making money and making it to the stage, not a success for the group since the group isn't even acknowledged during his shows. What about other of the young people who have made a success in the world, Phoenix, the other girl who is doing some acting, they are so looked down on by the group, is that cause they're not in it anymore? Another hypocrisy in my opinion. (reply to this post) | | Mabushii, March 1, 2002, 07:58 RE: Question for anyone who was/is in Thailand I was there a few times. I worked with both of them. Christy is cool. Not a big show of spirituality--just a friendly girl with a good deal of talent. We've all heard Jonas's voice on the first "loving Jesus" album. In my experience he was a very decent person. I am happy that they've made something of themselves. Even if they're still in the cult, being something is better than being nothing. They don't see any of the money themselves--sad but typical. But I HATE the way 10,000 losers wallow in a few people's hard earned successes. I don't like the secrecy. If the world knew what they stand for and believe in, they wouldn't be as accepting. Although Jonas did very well on the CNN Talk-Asia interview, it gave me the creeps because, as usual, most of what he said circumvented the truth of his real life. There's something wrong when you can't be proud of who you are and what you believe. I wish them success but I also hope that they'll wake up and smell the bullshit and get the credit they deserve. Especially Christy. She was one of the few people I met in ASCRO that had a clue.
