I have the right to give a personal opinion at least.
I personally think that George W Bush will win the President election again...thanks to Usama Bin Laden!

a whole lot of hot air????
It's interesting for me to note that while some people on this board are very vocal politically, they are living (per their profiles) outside of the continental USA. I wonder how many of them are US citizens and still yet how many of them actually went through the time to back up their party by requesting an absentee ballot. IMO, if you are a United States citizen living overseas and you did NOT request an absentee ballot, you have no right to even begin to spout your mouth off about the election. You threw away that right when you decided to stay home and be lazy and not vote! On the other hand, I know there are a lot of people (like my hubby - Canadian) who either live in the US but can't vote or live overseas and are not US citizens and yet still care about this election and the repercussions it could have on their lives who would vote if they could!

(reply to this post (reply to this post) | | Vicky, November 1, 2004, 09:24 I am inclined to agree It's human nature to take refuge in familiarity, particularly when one feels threatened, and that's why I am expecting Bush to win. I'm hoping to be proved wrong. (reply to this post) | | Time for revolution, November 2, 2004, 05:59 "come stand with me" If Bush said that one more time, I was prepared to break the tele. I'm gobsmacked at the lenghts they have gone to, to lie and cheat their way, as well as use fear to induce this hysteria amoungst their party followers. History says war sells, and being as America is so army driven/minded and relied upon for educating and supporting the poorer voters, coupled with their never questioning sense of pride in their country it does point to a Bush win. That said I am going to say Kerry will win. I'd better start making popcorn, it's gonna be a long night. Good luck Democrats!! (reply to this post) |

Of Flu shots and Death
There are two subjects that keep bouncing around in my head lately and I guess they do relate one to the other on some level. 1)WTF is the big fucking deal about flu shots??Please don't tell me all the same answers.Aside from healthcare workers needing them due to their jobs I think it's just another whinny gripe from seniors with nothing better to do than whine and gripe.I mean you'd think that having a fever with a few aches and pains is the new bubonic plague! 2) Why are people so obssesed with being alive and staying alive when they really shouldn't be? Hey guess what? You can "save the future" for your kids by dying when you're supposed to instead of bleeding us dry with your healthcare expenses and moaning about your medication costs--yeah:keeping you alive ain't cheap! OH well maybe I have a bad attitude towards the elderly. I guess I better pray against it or something.

| , April 3, 2005, 13:59 yeah I agree with that. Medical advances have allowed old people to live so much longer and eat up so much retirement that it's estimated that by the time folks our age retire, there won't be any money left for us. They are bleeding us dry. We should just stop selling them pruunes - that should cut the life span by some 10 years. (reply to this post) | | of flu shots and death, October 29, 2004, 10:48 I guess you'l know the answer when your 65 Flu is not the same as a common cold and it can cause death esp. in the elderly. (reply to this post) | | Jerseygirl, October 30, 2004, 07:21 OK That's where you've mistaken my frustration and perhaps a little aggresion for ignorance and hypocrisy. (reply to this post) | | Haunted, October 28, 2004, 11:14 Prayer Power!! I'll grab the vergetable oil!! (reply to this post) |
