chat room header
since so many of us use the chatroom while at work, and would have a really hard time explaining what MovingOn chat is ("Uh, I'm still getting over my last girlfriend") can we make the title a little bit smaller and more discreet?

| Jules, January 22, 2003, 23:18 The wages of sin Done. Glad to help you slack on company time. I was just wondering why there had been no change requests lately. The site must be perfect! Actually I have noticed people have had problems submitting polls. I haven't been able to duplicate any errors there, so if something goes wrong, could y'all let me know and send me the error message if there is one? Thanks. The Girls Rule This Site!
As of today, 1/14/2003 1:26:03 PM, there are 503 persons registered on this site. 253 claim to be female, 219 claim to be male, and 31 failed to claim either. Why does this site seem to attract more females than males? Any theories? Regards, Anthony

| Jules, January 15, 2003, 20:56 My opinion... ... from my professional experience is that females are more likely to register to create a profile within an online "community", and are less reticent with the information they disclose. Men can't be bothered a lot of the time. There are about 14,000 unique visitors to this site every month and actually the number of male registered users is quite high based on my experience. (reply to this post) | | Anthony, January 16, 2003, 13:16 What's Your Point Jules??? (reply to this post) | | Jules, January 16, 2003, 15:47 Hey, the girls can still rule if you want My point is that web sites in general that are interactive, content-driven and community-based and not focusing on gaming, technology or adult content usually have about a 60/40 f/m gender split. (reply to this post) | | Anthony, January 16, 2003, 16:18 Whatever! Why didin't you just come out and say that plainly?? It makes total sense, but there's no reason to beat around the bush! (reply to this post) | | Jules, January 16, 2003, 16:40 Another Blonde Day I was trying to be clear. It's just that those stats are based on my experience with web site development, not any report I can direct you to, and I was trying to cover my ass in case I got cross-examined on the numbers. I guess it came out wrong. I wasn't trying to be defensive. Girls totally rule. (reply to this post) | | faeriraven, January 16, 2003, 12:49 I agree I have to agree with Jules. I think when you concider the number of females to males that were in TF, the turn out on this site is a lot better then expected. Ofcourse, the more the merrier...the population of this site is 5x what it was when I first registered- good job Jules! (reply to this post) | | Prisma, January 15, 2003, 17:32 More Females in TF? I always remember there being a larger majority of females than males in TF generally speaking. I remember the ratio in most homes being something like 7 (or more) females for every male. This could be one theory. --Prisma ;) (reply to this post) | | JoeH, January 16, 2003, 21:30 hmmm maybe that's why so many guys stay in! 7 to 1, damn if all the bars in this town had a ratio like that, I'd get laid a lot more often. (reply to this post) | | thepersoniamnow, January 21, 2003, 21:35 . I never stay in... (reply to this post) | | A.C. Van Dareigh, January 14, 2003, 23:53 can't wait till user #666!
(reply to this post) | | Jerseygirl, January 14, 2003, 20:25 Loaded Question Because women are bitches who like to complain, murmur and hang on to bitternesses more so than guys.Men are more forgiving and accepting. Besides, with all the porn online why fiddle with a estrogen-laden website? (reply to this post) | | charity, January 26, 2003, 04:32 bitchymen i agree with your last sentence...but i think the first one is quite a generalization there!! in fact most men have the hardest time lettin go!! and as far as murmer and complain...well that too!! (reply to this post) | | JoeH, January 26, 2003, 18:04 pot vs kettle you're a real ray of sunshine yourself there charity! "Count your blessings!"
Jules, sorry about the skirt sewing, but you should have seen some of the "costumes" VW and I were forced to wear!"Oh look at these forsake-all white old lady pants, they're perfect for the singing team, TYJ!" Of course getting down to the local kmart to buy some thongs (the pants were see-through white)was out of the question. You can imagine the result.

| Jules, December 19, 2002, 17:34 Free Stores Man, that's rough. Poor VWBabe though, I think she actually had to wear the skirts I sewed. I still don't know who came up with that whole peasant meets cancan dancer look, but Daniel, some justice should be sought there. (reply to this post) | | Elsie, December 20, 2002, 00:32 Thanks People After reading the skirt and pants anecdotes and remembering my own sartorial nightmares in the F, I finally realize have earned every last bit of an excuse to feel OK about all the money I waste on clothes! If I had known I one day would be able to dress as I chose, I might have been humming a little more while scrubbing those toilets and floors. Take that, dear Revolutionary Aunties! Guess what, I pay a housecleaner too, hahahahahahaHA! (reply to this post) | | Anthony, December 21, 2002, 16:11 Heavenly Shack Guess you won't be living in Sophie The Washerwoman's nieghborhood in Heaven, if you even make it there. (reply to this post) | | xhrisl, December 24, 2002, 01:55 Sophie's Reward Heaven is for people who don't have anything on earth---heaven is the proverbial pie in the sky, the dangling carrot of religion in front of the face of the ignorat masses. (reply to this post) | | Elsie, December 23, 2002, 22:43 aaaaargh I nearly split my sides laughing when I saw your comment, Anthony. But then that night I dreamt I was back at a Combo with like 25 bathrooms and I was thinking "please, please, anything but cleaning," but sure enough, on the whiteboard, there is was: I had to do JJT!! Immediately I started to think of how I could do a halfhearted job...then I was like, no, not worth getting in trouble...then I was rehearsing in my head the logistics of what to do first, refill multiple TPs or drag bucket and mop up and down the stairs to all the different ones... Then mercifully I woke up, got my bearings, put on a nice suit and went to my lucrative job at the top of our field, where my boss asked me to draft an important document and do some research and treated me like the intelligent woman I am. I asked my secretary for some help with the things my time is to expensive for me to do. After lunch at the cafeteria where our chef cooked for the Olympic Village and I have a zillion choices, my colleague stpped by to shoot the breeze about New Year's party plans. No micromanaging, either. Sometimes all it takes to appreciate the present is a dream about the Family homes! (reply to this post) | | Anthony, December 24, 2002, 12:57 Camels & Needles Glad you're having a great time on this temporary world, but I just hope you've made arrangements for the next life. Lay not up for yourselves earthly treasures... (reply to this post) | | JoeH, December 20, 2002, 16:55 that's awesome Elsie! good for you, and hey when she's done, can you send her over to my house? (reply to this post) | | Elsie, December 20, 2002, 22:32 Sure is Awesome! But... Who said it was a she? ;) (reply to this post) | | Joe H, December 19, 2002, 15:22 damn! wish I had been there to see that! Nothing like black panties and see thru pants. (reply to this post) |
