Getting Through : In Remembrance
In Memoriam... | from Haunted - Tuesday, January 11, 2005 accessed 2968 times We are many dark mysteries, and behind the smiles and joy often lie insatiable black holes... In the wake of this most recent tragedy, under the crushing weight of the knowledge of yet another life so catastrophically devastated, one thought claws it's way to the surface... We must remember. We must never forget. Their lives and untimely deaths re-enforce our humanity. I propose we observe Ricky's birth date, January 25th, as our own Memorial Day, our Remembrance Day when we collectively mourn and remember the joys we shared with those whose lives ended prematurely because of the cult. We should also celebrate the fact that we are still here, we are still strong, and none of our peers have died in vain for, as the fitting adage goes "we shall overcome". 1. Abe Braaten (27) 2. | | | | from Haunted Wednesday, December 05, 2007 - 20:20 (Agree/Disagree?) This list has been updated and the known ages of the idivuduals whose lives were cut short in direct relation to their experiences and as a result of abuse have been added. Again, please email me if there are any inconsistencies/errors that you see as I'd like this list to be correct. Also, if there are any names that should be added - please, do let me know so that their struggle will not have been in vain. Thanks to everyone who has helped in this project so far. It really doesn't matter why anyone says, these sad numbers speak for themselves..... (reply to this comment)

| | | | | | | | | from Spring Tuesday, March 01, 2005 - 13:29 (Agree/Disagree?) Why is River Phoenix on this list? Not to speak ill of the dead, but ... he died of a drug overdose, not suicide. He wasn't in TF for that long and I suspect that his drug use had more to do with his being a movie star than his Family roots. I think it's a good idea to have a complete list of everyone who has passed on, but in the interest of accuracy I vote that we count the deaths from self-destructive behaviour or other causes separately from those who actually committed suicide. Also, I was under the impression that Cherish died from some kind of liver or kidney problem ... am I off the mark? If so, perhaps someone could set me straight. (reply to this comment)
| | | from * Thursday, January 20, 2005 - 00:07 (Agree/Disagree?) I love the lyrics of the below song it reminds me of friends who are not with us any more. STARSAILOR LYRICS "Some Of Us" Heard you today, that isn't my name, you were fast asleep, Forget what he did, can I be the kid for your soul to keep. Some of us laugh, some of us cry, Some of us smoke, some of us lie, But it's all just the way that we cope with our lives. I've grown to see the philosophy of my own mistrust, We all have our faults, mine come in waves that you turn to rust, Some of us laugh, some of us cry, Some of us smoke, some of us lie, But it's all just the way that we cope with our lives. I've been hanging onto something, You keep laughing awe-inspiring. Some of us laugh, some of us cry, Some of us smoke, some of us lie, But it's all just the way that we cope with our lives. Some of us laugh, some of us cry, Some of us smoke, some of us lie, But it's all just the way that we cope with our lives. My wandering soul found solace at last, I wanted to know how long it would last. She's losing control, she's coming down fast, The heart that I stole, I'm not giving back, never giving back. | from Nancy Friday, January 14, 2005 - 12:36 (Agree/Disagree?) My God! There are so many! They could fill a room. Can we collect some pictures of these people? It would be nice to see their faces. Their faces shouldn't be forgotten. I can get a picture of one, the lovely, amazing, Cherish Lloyd. Does anyone else have access to others? (reply to this comment)
| | | from Haunted Friday, January 14, 2005 - 10:45 (Agree/Disagree?) URGENT!!!! Please provide me with any other names of any other SGA's who you know of who have commited suicide. Thank you. (reply to this comment)
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | From Mir Wednesday, March 02, 2005, 03:53 (Agree/Disagree?) Peter? Their oldest?... I knew him. I knew their family. I was around when Abiah got sent to I think it was Canada or the US to have a huge brain tumor removed. Needles to say the Family treated her like s**t. Shaul got together with Katrina, Watchmans wife and they were the NAS's for Mexico and Central America. Can you imagine, being as sick as she was and then have her husband ripped away from her? She survived though. She was/is a very gentle woman from what I can remember. How sad.(reply to this comment) |

| | | | | from Tim R Thursday, January 13, 2005 - 15:58 (Agree/Disagree?) There was a friend of mine named Martin who took his life back in 1985 in Japan. We were roommates at the YAFM, he was a pretty cool guy. They told us he "ran away", I only learned the truth through the rumor mill. RIP (reply to this comment)

| from Haunted Wednesday, January 12, 2005 - 09:13 (Agree/Disagree?) I wanted to say thanks for everyone who contributed names to this list. Initially, and as it stands, the list is comprised only of those who took their own lives or whose upbringing had smoethingto do with the circumstances in which their lives were ended. I have been asked whether or not we should add those who have simply perished due t other causes, and I wanted to ask all of your opinions - should we have a different list for this? Thank you all and to all those who have passed, may you find peace... (reply to this comment)
| From Xeena Monday, May 07, 2007, 07:16 (Agree/Disagree?) My mom died of cancer almost 11 yrs ago now, July 27th 1996. Had the cog alowed her to get the medical treatment she needed instead of telling her she was possesed by demons & stealing her travel money to get to the US for treatment, she might still be with us today. I was wondering if that would qualify her to be added to the list. If so her name was Robyn Ann Van Blarcom, also known as Hope Of Zeb Geppetto.(reply to this comment) |
| | | | from Memorial for Ricky Wednesday, January 12, 2005 - 00:10 (Agree/Disagree?) Does anyone know if any of us second gen exers would be welcome to attend Ricky's memorial service? If none is planned....I REALLY think he deserves one. Despite the horrid circumstances surrounding his death, his life needs to be remembered,--struggles, overcomings, successes, failures and all. It would mean a lot to some of us. (reply to this comment)

| | | from Haunted Tuesday, January 11, 2005 - 18:48 (Agree/Disagree?) It's been pointed out to me that my original title was a bit off, but this can happen when we self-medicate... Although perhaps in my state of drunkeness I meant it as a mental note we should all take..... PS: to the pedantric among you - it has been corrected... (reply to this comment)
