Getting Through : Dealing

Incarceration

from spike5150 - Thursday, October 25, 2007

I'm going back to jail this Tuesday, Halloween. Serving for a drug charge. I'm pretty used to being locked up, spent a lot of time there as a kid when I chose the streets over TF. Just wondering if anyone might have some idea how to deal with having a shitty life due to being raised in that bullshit.

Jail sucks. Stop doing things that land you there, man. I made a lot of stupid choices after I left -A long time ago- and many of them intentionally, knowing full well what the consequences were. You only get one shot at THIS life, make it count. Yeah, it sounds like a Nike advertisement, but it's true. If you value your own future and wellbeing then take control of it. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that Spike, I wish you the best despite your current circumstances. I almost feel that it's hard not to get into trouble when you've been raised in TF. I feel sometimes that I am in a police state, which I am in already went to Jail for a DUI. It's so easy to get one here. ARGGHHHH

I hope you get out soon and get on parole. Will you have internet access in Jail?

Yeah, I got my DWI about 9 months ago. Worst night of my life! Just spending all those hrs behind those thick metal bars in a 18x4 cell really messed with me mentally. Even tho it was only for 15 hrs, you really appreciate your freedom. It's hard to explain if you've never been there, but it I have a new found respect for those that are locked up in there for years at a time. (reply to this comment

You are who you choose to be, you choose. You have to decide how you want to live your life as a victim or as a survivor. Are you going to live your life in your past or make yourself a future? Take this time out to find out who you are and when you come out make the most of it. Good luck.
