from Sakabatou - Tuesday, July 04, 2006 accessed 868 times My point of view about why people that are not ex-members of the cult The Family, but from other religions, are posting articles on this website. Ok. First let me tell my story of how I got on here. Then I will make my conclusions. It was a day when I was feeling down. I started to get this feeling that I had to find someone who shared the same problems and challenges and was willing to talk about their experience. So I got on the Internet and I typed something like "people messed up by religion". When I first entered the site I didn’t know what the hell it was about exactly, but I found an article from a guy who talked about how his **Christian religion** had played a very important role in messing him up. I started finding articles about some guy named Ricky and didn’t have a clue of who he was. I even saw his video. After a couple of clicks I understood exactly what this website was all about: A place for people who had been part of a cult called "The Family" (sounds like The Godfather huh?): A very liberal religion where people fucked each other all the time, sex was glorified and whole lot of other crazy beliefs. Ok, as an ex-Christian, I didn’t want to post any articles on a website dedicated to people from The Family right? I decided to check the site and see how many articles were posted by people from other religions. Results: Plenty. So I said: hell, why not? After all this the only site I found that had what I was looking for: people going through my same situation. See, no matter what religion it is, it can mess you up. Just compare the articles from "other religion people" with the ones from "The Family people" and you won't find many differences. So with that said, I will now get on with posting my articles on how religion fucked up my life. Cheers |
