Getting Through : Music and Songs

Goatking

from zendrayk - Sunday, June 12, 2005

A little song I wrote up one day to glorify the tattoo of a satyr I'd gotten down my leg.

I know all your secret faces; I live where your demons hide

Lick my horn I'll take you places; I'm the one that gets you high

I am the one that gets you hiiiiiggghhhh

get in the ring feel the sting, ain't no thing but the

muthafuckin goatking

make it slide, feel it burn; your blood siiiings,

I am the goatking

Staring through your vacant eyes; feel the beast inside of you

keep on rolling don't ask why; I am that thing that moves in you

I am the one that gets you high

get in the ring feel the sting, ain't no thing but the

motherfucking goatking

make it slide, feel it burn; your blood siiiings,

I am the goatking

Sick inside such twisted shit, do I care? no not a bit!

Stay away bitch I'm contagious, feel my heat yeah your blood rages

suck it up I'm going down, feel the room spin round and round?

I'm done, through, I can't go back, I feel nothing, fade to black

get in the ring feel the sting, ain't no thing but the

motherfucking goatking

make it slide, feel it burn; your blood siiiings,

I am the goatking

Actually, this was written while I was completely sober and not under the influence of any chemicals except maybe caffeine.

It was written with a tattoo of a half-goat half-man (goats head with human torso and goats legs) that I have from my hip to my knee in mind. The drug inferences were intentional and meant to glorify inebriation but weren't a reflection of my own use. I've personally never used heroin though I have used prescription opiates quite heavily. There were also references to ecstasy (commonly referred to as "rolling"), which I have experimented with but just threw in for flavors sake....

This was more a tribute to the archetype rather than a representation of any of my actual experiences (make it slide feel it burn your blood sings; is a not so subtle reference to intravenous drug use even though I've never used drugs by injection myself)

In writing, my imagination runs with me, and images conveyed not always necessarily reflect actual events experienced by myself but are sometimes romanticized and elaborated versions of a concept.(reply to this comment

Question: What where you on when you wrote that song?
