An Ode to Joe | from merrily - Sunday, April 18, 2004
accessed 2089 times Joe you are so anal, You think you're so smart
inside your cranial,
but really you're so venial.
No one likes you, not even Banal.
Joe, sometimes you are such an ass,
reading your words is like having gas.
You think you are the grammar Nazi,
when you can't even play Yatzee.
Joe, you think you are God's gift to women,
when even your art is pure fiction.
You make us wonder what is true;
perhaps you look like Mr. Magoo?
Joe, we wish you would get some Paxil,
then the world would rotate on its axle.
The planets would all realign,
Nostrodamus would think it's a sign.
Joe, we wish you the best of luck,
we simply wish you were not such a schmuck.
Having an education is all well and good,
but don't act like you were raised in the Hood. |

We knew Joe was going to like it, didn't we? Now we are just waiting for the GrammarNazi and the Pedantic Prick to have their say-so as they surely can't tolerate being left out of it. In that way they are pretty much alike, the three...
Will you be posting any more of your poems, Merrily? I thought it was very touching and well written. Especially liked the empathy you threw in at the end (you can't expect a dog to learn if you only hit it)...
