Getting Through : Creative Writing
THAT ANOTHER | from Cultinvator - Tuesday, February 18, 2003 accessed 1135 times My approach to this: mirror of my old self spring of my youth root replanted seed flourished adopted baby picture --- redeveloped hand that plowed another man's field body that loved another man’s wife heart that followed man’s call mind that prayed another man’s request feet that followed another man’s path neck that exposed another man’s danger skin that discovered another man’s fantasy scalp that shed another dead man’s hair tongue that spoke another dead man’s lie “pet brew” tears that dried and vanished from another man’s cry wound that spilled another god’s blood sweat that polished another prophet’s dream fingers that typed another child’s story stomach that processed another man’s meal muscles that ached from another’s game wrinkles that forced another spirit’s smile forehead that burned from another world’s sun lungs that breathed another’s breath of hot air eyes that beheld another burning bush hand that distributed another machine’s product cared for another family’s daughter taught another kind of truth received another man’s correction shoulders supported another lifestyle Blindly accepted rejected fought for fought against spanked cooked caressed confessed and then switched off another life based on: one goal expressed in dozens of languages pursued in hundreds of mediums by thousands of people through interpretation of tens of thousands of revelations based on the heritage of one, and one’s family Today this reflection of yesterday's shadow is not here nor there, not gone, nor present Simply THAT without the OTHER |
