Getting Through : Creative Writing
The Green Mile | from Mika - Tuesday, December 17, 2002 accessed 1225 times It's kinda old, but I wrote this poem after I read "The Green Mile" (Stephen King). If you haven't read the series, you probably won't understand this. I saw the pain and started crying I felt your tears when you were dying I said I'd never come undone From start of day 'til set of sun Your hands are big, I am not lying Only one thing guilty of, that was trying To put together a broken thing To help two silenced girls to sing I see the hurt and want to help you Thoughts you have many, words few You're strapped into the electric chair Moments ago, you were knelt in prayer I've felt the healing your hands can do Now I bind up those hands, right on cue A single tear drops from your eyes I know you're safe in Paradise 7/13/97 |

I just read "the green mile" recently and this expresses the sadness that the story brought out, to me at least. I enjoy Stephen King, not everything is horror. THe green mile made me cry when I read it, it was so sad how he had to die innocently. *sigh* (reply to this comment)
