| from shikaka Sunday, August 06, 2006 - 21:58 (Agree/Disagree?) lol good stuff. here is an email I sent after viewing the hell page. Im sure I wasted my time, but I got a kick out of it. Subject: Praise the Lord! I just viewed your "hell" page, and am finished wiping the tears of laughter from my eyes. Thanks for taking us all back to the middle ages. I especially enjoyed the breakdown about how many people die every day, and the way you inserted your own demented "factoids", about what percent of them are going to hell, etc. all very logical, from the mentally insane viewpoint. You seem to fancy yourself a logical, intelligent person, so I ask you: How is it that hell is, in your own words, "a place of darkness", and also "a place of flame"?...doesnt flame give off LIGHT? Just a little bit? Dumbass? (reply to this comment)

That was so nifty that I felt compelled to send the maker the following praises in an email: "Wow, I just got done viewing your web page about hell! The content was the most ridiculous crap I have ever had the misfortune to waste 60 seconds on. But the presentation was inventive. You would probably make a mean halloween page." | | | from afflick Wednesday, August 02, 2006 - 14:30 (Agree/Disagree?) I just think it is sad. It reminds me of former child star Kirk Cameron's show on Cable, I think it is called "The Way of the Master." In it, Cameron and his co-stars accost people on the street with questions like, "Have you ever lied?" "Have you ever lusted after something you don't have?" "Then you are a sinner and you are going to hell." Working that hard to instill an unnatural fear of the natural human condition is bullying. These Christians who are so eager to let others around them know there is a hell are doing it because they are so sure they are not going there, and see it as their duty to scare others into Heaven with them. Really, it takes a lot less intelligence and pursuasion to terrify some lost little convert than it does to use logic and reason. Something very interesting I noticed about professors from an very reputable college I got to know was that they were not dogmatically sure of their position. They were very intelligent and had spent years studying the issues we were discussing, but they were just as eager to hear my viewpoints as to expound on their own. Their example showed me that the truly intelligent don't worry about whether or not you espouse their beliefs but are secure in the knowledge that every issue is complicated and cannot be resolved in one conversation or even one lifetime.
