Getting Through : Lighten Up
| from smashingrrl - Thursday, July 20, 2006 accessed 1090 times Wondering if anyone else pulled shit like this. Anyone who was at Elgg should remember the sharing schedule. The idiots posted it in the dining room along with all the other schedules. Every adult, teen and jett had a thumb tack as their symbol on the work schedules. Blue, blue with white-out dots, blue with white-out stripes, etc. Who was scheduled for kitchen, childcare, yardwork, etc; their tack was pushed into the appropriate slot. It didn't take all that long to figure out whose tack was whose. So the sharing schedule was on the same bulliten board. It wasn't marked as such but everyone knew what it was. I used to move the tacks around. My mom was therefore always assigned to people I didn't hate and I knew she didn't hate. They also had to be relatively cute. My step-dad and anyone else who pissed me off? They got to sleep with those with halitosis, severe achne, extreme body odor, or those who were simply fat. The only secret was to never change the shepherds schedules. None of the other adults dared complain to the shepherds. That wouldn't be in the spirit now would it? Sometimes it was the little revenge I could get away with that kept me sane. Okay sane is a relative term. |

Smashing Girl, there are plenty of people here who think you're just Smashing! I admire your spunk. After I first found this site I was getting so much flak on here I didn't come back for about six months. But after I did come back, and tentatively tried again to post a couple of comments, I began to find good friends here (Vixen, Andy H, Placebo, Solemn, and others) and I began to be brave enough to ignore the others. Now I'm addicted! Anyway, I know enough about you to know you're a brave girl and you've been through plenty and you're true to who you are. I admire that. One thing this site has done for me is helped me to express myself. Even when I expect to get a whole lot of shit for something I want to say, I just say it anyway because I've come to feel safe here. I hope you hang around long enough to have the same experience, and I hope you know that most of us are understanding and feel like 'family' to our fellow posters, who understand the part of us that most of our other friends don't even know about. | | | from Wolf Friday, July 21, 2006 - 11:31 (Agree/Disagree?) No freakin' way! Good stuff. We used to record people with a timed recording device, little pervs that we were. Then one day we set the switch wrong and the alarm went off instead of the recorder starting... (reply to this comment)
| From Christy Sunday, July 23, 2006, 09:46 (Agree/Disagree?) I was just going to bring the recording thing up. We never did succeed with that. I do remember when we had an adjoining room with my parents, who were the home shepherds. They had a caddie on their door where people would stick their OHR's. Each day we'd check the "LU/With whom" section to see who was sharing with whom. It was at that time that my sister and I decided that we never wanted to become M., a married woman in the home who was always sharing with all the single guys. (reply to this comment) |

| from smashingrrl Friday, July 21, 2006 - 08:34 (Agree/Disagree?) Hey, if anyone has a "myspace" account, add me. I'm http://www.myspace.com/laurenb77. I don't have any friends on there and don't wanna look like a loser. Being a loser is fine.....as long as I don't look like one : ). (reply to this comment)

I love the pins re-arranging. You should've put some guy pins together and see people get some exorcisms or something. (reply to this comment)
