| From N A C Sunday, September 14, 2008, 22:42 (Agree/Disagree?) Hi Cheeks, I am not a member of "COG" or "TFI." I am just a single mom originally from Costa Rica & brought up Catholic. I currently reside in California. I love my son & I will NEVER let anyone/anything hurt him! I did not have problems with my religion, but experienced unforgiveable abuse as a child at the hands of my own family. I am now in my 30's. I have tried to forgive, but it has been difficult... A child always remembers... No child should endure pain at anyone's hands, let alone his/her family. I knew about "COG" from receiving pamplets distributed during my childhood, and most recently, from CNN reporting. I became interested in this subject because, first of all, it hurts me, too. And, as I researched the subject (I'm "no dummy"--went to graduate school), I became mortified! Religion courses did not prepare me for what CNN exposed. I feel for Ms. Davida because she lost her "Family" brother Ricky. Ricky's life has touched me & I am sure, his life has touched everyone with heart. I hope that Ms. Davida is doing well, and I would like to extend her my friendship--from my heart! Please ask me what you would like to know about myself... I am "real" and hope all us can someday move forward & block our traumatic memories! I am trying... Most respectfully, N A C(reply to this comment) |
| | From scarface Sunday, September 14, 2008, 23:08 (Agree/Disagree?) With all due respect to you and what you have been through. Get lost. You may think you have a great deal in common with us because you were mistreated. You don’t. I only speak for myself obviously, but I find it annoying that people simplistically associate our exceptionally unique upbringing with domestic abuse. You have NO clue what it was like for “all of us “growing up and I’m not pleased that you don’t see that. My solitary piece of advice to you is get therapy, and once again get lost. Most respectfully.(reply to this comment) |
| | | | | | From N A C Sunday, September 14, 2008, 23:21 (Agree/Disagree?) I respect your opinion, and you are right, we may have had very different upbringings. Thank you for your honesty. My best friend is a successful psychiatrist & I have had therapy, but sometimes, it goes beyond professional intervention. I am not trying to make any comparison to others pain & suffering, as it would unfair of me to do so. But please believe me when I say that I have cried learning so much about COG and its history. However, I hope to extend my heart to others! I am still trying to understand why legal authorities failed most of you. Please accept my sincere apology. I will not post again & wish all of you only the best. Most respectfully, N A C(reply to this comment) |
