Getting in Touch : Connections
Hi there | from Toon - Sunday, August 17, 2003 accessed 1379 times Hi there My brother joined this cult in 1977 in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. He's moved to Etobicoke, Ontario since, but has lived in Mexico for the past five years or so. I think he's in Monterrey now. He stays in touch with my parents (mostly when he needs money), but I won't communicate to him. I know he's out there recruiting more people into this cult and I won't condone or support that in any fashion. He was a great guy before all this happened. A carpenter, an athlete and a friend to all who knew him. Now, he's a vacant shell. His eyes are empty and souless. To me, it's always felt like a death in the family without a funeral. I'm glad to have found this site. It's encouraging to see these stories; these strong people, who've had the courage and good sense to pull away from that force. My heart goes out to you all. It can't be easy to build on the foundation of misinformation and you should all be congratulated. All that you do is will make you better than what you were. At the very least, you are contributing to a better world, rather than tearing families apart, like my brother and that cult continues to do. I'd like to hear from you. Any of you, but in particular any who may have met my brother. His name is Steve Halifax, but I suppose he's adopted some alias. Best of luck to you all. Terry |

| from angy24 Thursday, November 13, 2003 - 16:36 (Agree/Disagree?) Hi Terry, I knew your brother Steve Halifax. I've known him practically my whole life. I remember when he used to be married to someone named Rose in Winnipeg. I also lived with him for a few years with his latest wife Celeste (I can't remember her real name), in Toronto. I took care of your nieces and nephews for years, I taught them to read and write. Your nephew Sammys first&;word was my name. &; As for Steve, he's a&;bit off his rocker! The last time I saw him, my friends and I had gone down to Mexico to live with them (back when I was still in the family), we ended up leaving about a week after arriving because of him and his wife. They're such horrible parents and that was&;one of the reasons we wanted to get out of there. I hope theyre doing better than when I was there, but I doubt it. &; If you want to hear more, drop me a line. Egashega24@yahoo.com (reply to this comment)
