from Prisma - Thursday, November 21, 2002 accessed 323 times To all college students who are and paying over $100.00 for schoolbooks I have a tip for you: I didn’t discoverer this until my last year in college but here it is. Some of the books you know you’ll never read again such as a Psychology book or Trade books that are always changing and being updated with the latest version – you can sell these books on Amazon. Amazon will allow you to sell any book that is available for purchase on their site. In order sell your books you must first register (of course) and then go to the tab “Sell Your Stuff”. If you are selling books list the ISBN # and accurately describe the condition of your book. I recently made over $200.00 by selling a few pricey college books that were in great condition. If you just finished a course try listing your book and it will usually sell fast as the books that are in immediate circulation will sell faster. Selling books on Amazon will give you much more money back then selling them at your college book store (trust me on this). You can also sell DVD’s and CD’s – I did this as well and both were purchased very quickly. Another tip if you really want your used items to sell faster compare the other sellers prices to your own and drop your price by a small margin and your posting will most likely get bought instead of theirs. This is free of charge and Amazon will only take a small % commission if your item is purchased. If your item is not purchased your posting will simply expire after 6 weeks. I hope some of you will try this. Later, --Prisma |
