Anyone know how to make money as an Entrepreneur with vending machines, EBAY selling?

I did time in the Army, worked overseas as a DoD contractor. Just going to school now on the G.I. bill trying to stay here in Colorado. The job market isn't that hot here. I've had good job offers in other states but trying to stay here with my GF, since its a nice place & her family is here.

Any sincere advice would be appreciated.

There are quite a few strategies for making a buck on eBay. Check out liquidation.com There is a similar site for military surplus. One approach is to specialize in something, say iPods. Learn how to take them apart and test them. Buy bulk lots of returned iPods at that website. Use the dead ones for parts and piece together working units to sell on eBay. Checking out completed listings on eBay is a good research tool. Set up a photo server to save on listing costs. Automate things with the eBay API. If you've got the time then the money can be made.

Good luck.

You can buy vending machines at Sam's club for two grand you can also buy all the crap that goes inside it. I would suggest putting them in laundro mats as they are high traffic and moms come in with kids and need to give them something to keep them quiet.

I had been looking into the vending machine thing myself, however I found that the competition was huge!
If you do want to do that, try finding a vending machine for something unique. Not just the normal soda and candy deal. Find a product that no one else out there has done.

Although not along the lines of vending machines, I have a friend who buys military surplus from Ebay and sells it to military enthusiasts in Japan for 5to10X value.

The biggest cost saver was that he would have a military friend stationed in Japan recieve all the packages so he could detour all the red-tape and costs of international shipping (overseas US Military instalations are all techically part of the US)

I remember him buying something like 30 USMC dress coats for $18 each and selling them for $300 in Japan. Field mess kits for $3 a piece on Ebay and $25 on Yahoo Japan auctions....

There isn't really anyone else here who does this kind of business -private importing and wholesale of military goods, and the ones who do really inflate their prices as they have to go to Okinawa or the US to stock up.
