Getting Support : Get a Job
Heap it on girls! | from itsxena2u - Wednesday, December 31, 2003 accessed 1483 times MAKE UP HELPS GET WOMEN HIRED Twenty-five percent of British bosses surveyed admit a woman wearing make-up to a job interview has a better chance of getting hired. The British communications company, Aziz Corp., interviewed 100 top managers and finds many employers think a woman who wears no make-up looks as if "she cannot be bothered to make an effort" and conveys a less professional approach. More than 60 percent of female managers admitted being prejudiced against women who do not wear make-up, compared with 52 percent of male managers, the Daily Telegraph reports. |

I think it depends what job the woman is interviewing for. If she goes for position in a steel factory as a welder or to a construction company as a bulldozer driver with high heels and freshly painted fingernails she might not get the job. Her chances might be 85% that she wont get the job. (reply to this comment)

| From yep Monday, January 05, 2004, 19:31 (Agree/Disagree?) No shit Joe!!Another amazing recent survey has made a startling and completely mind blowing discovery: Men who shave and who wear clean clothes and polished shoes, are up to....wait for it....85% more successful at job interviews!!!!!! - More shocking and amazing was the finding that those who wore ties (depending on the field of work) increased their chances by a further 2.739%, and that those who wore a jacket (again reasonably suited to the occupation) upped their chances by a further 5.00% again. Not surprising, researchers like those who came up with this amazing discovery prove what we have all been wondering; that they truly are worth every cent of their one million dollar government grants.
