from LaVelle - Friday, September 09, 2005 accessed 1233 times l I spent most of my life living in one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. Los Angeles, Ca. and I witnessed the human injustice of the infamous "Watts Riots". I recently moved to New Orleans last October 2004. I am yet employed with a company there right up to Huricanne Katrina. We made it through the storm, and had to wade through the filthy contaminated water for 5 days prior to evacuation. Due to a severe leg injury I got during this time, we hiked through the water 5-8 miles to sleep for two days on the Claiborn Bridge behind the Superdome. While there the police presence was by the hundreds, as well as helicopter patrol. Yet there was absolutely no medical personell set up out there to give treatment to heart patients, diabetes patients, to sick children, nor to the elderly. We were left out there in the blistering heat with no water provision, and no information being given to anyone to update our understanding of any evacution times. I witnessed several deaths tha and FEMA procedures. This is America, and I have put in years of business labor in this country and paid tax dollars. Never should any people, no matter what race or culture, have to endure the abusive, diobiolically satanic and horrendous treatment that I witnessed under such cataclysmic conditions. What is America purporting by media but, living in their hearts privattly thas been revealed in this disaster? Ipray that those who care will remember there are the sick elderly who earned the right to receive fair treatment who are victims, and also the thousands of children who deserve a chance to live a productive life, without prejudice, discrimination, and judgement. Please reach out a generous hand up, not hand out, and stand for what is right. Don't be silent, brotherly treatment is the most Godly kind. Sincerly, Mr. LaVelle Speese |
