Moving On - Children of the Children of God

Hello to all,

My name is Raymond M. Kristiansen and I am 27 years old. I was associated with The Family through my mother being close friends to several 'disciples'

I read this article in the Norwegian newspaper "Dagbladet" (www.dagbladet.no) today. (It was published Saturday, but I did not see it before Sunday night). The on-line version is here:

It brought back many memories, and not very happy thoughts. Things I have not thought much about and much less talked about for years.

I suppose my mother became associated with members of The Family in 1981 - when I was three years old. The contact was broken due to other circumstances in 1991. In those years I saw a lot, but I was not so much victimized myself, at least not compared to many others.

My point with this was mainly to give you that URL, and I guess this is also my first message here so, hello all :)

I can do it, but it will take some time, and I cannot guarantee about the quality of my English, but I will do it if it will interest others. I will post it as a blog post on a password-protected blog I will create as a sub-blog to my main blog (http://dltq.blogs.com)

Anyone else who know Norwegian and English who want to help out? We could make it a collaborative effort in a wiki environment. I have an account at www.socialtext.com that I can use for this purpose.

ps. Reading this article really made me upset yesterday, and I am still crying inwardly, thinking about all those abuses. I just cannot stop thinking about the fucking incidents. (reply to this comment)

I believe I met you in '88 or thereabouts. My family stayed with yours for a few weeks while on a 'road trip' to Norway. If you are who I think you are, I remember telling you that heaven was in the moon, lol.

Haha, I think I remember you, or at least someone, saying that. I was 10 years at the time, so I don't remember details much.

I have earlier had some communication with other ex-TF'ers, but not much at all. Some of my best friends from my childhood were/are members of TF, and it is tricky. I don't know where they are now, perhaps I will do some searching. But then again, most of us just want to .. move on. Right?

Thanks for posting that! What's beyond me, is how anyone currently in TF can look at those pictures and not say that all the children raised by the "Dito Book" were abused! Just being subjected to that graphic material is a form of abuse! TF has everyone in that cult thinking that the only definition of abuse is; violent rape. I suppose that's why they say, "There were only a few isolated incidents." -Yea, whatever helps you sleep at night!!
